Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The structure of the three-nucleon systems He3 and H3 has been the subject of much recent experimental and theoretical investigation. Elastic scattering of high-energy electrons from these nuclei has been used to measure the charge and magnetic form factors of both He3 and H3. Theoretical analysis of these form factors has yielded new information concerning the wave function for the three-nucleon system. An analysis was made of the recent measurements of the electron-proton coincidence cross section from He3 and H3 to obtain additional information on the wave function for these nuclei. An adequate fit to the present data can be obtained using a completely symmetric S-state Irving-Gunn wave function. An admixture of the mixed symmetry S-state larger than about 2% can be excluded. The aim of the conference was to discuss recent developments in low and medium energy few-particle problems. This included the fields of the nuclear three-body problem; nuclear forces (in particular, three-body forces); symmetries; and the interaction of mesons, leptons, and photons with few-nucleon systems. Special sessions were also devoted to the application of the results and techniques of the few-particle research to the problems of other fields, in particular nuclear structure and astrophysics. The conference was organized into nine plenary sessions and 13 parallel sessions.
