Book excerpt: This long awaited and updated edition of the wildly popular original publication of Quantum Golf includes new instructional material by world-class golf coach and leadership trainer Kjell Enhager, who shares lessons he has developed with professionals as Sir Nick Faldo and Annika Sorenstam. The story begins as a frustrated golfer, J.P. Smith, meets master golf teacher, Linc St. Clair; enlightenment follows. Every golfer must master the mechanics, but it is the mental side of golf which determines who succeeds or fails. St. Clair guides Mr. Smith to success with the 5 Fundamentals of Quantum Golf: Frame of Mind, Flow, Focus, Feeling, and Finding Yourself . To help Mr. Smith (and you) learn how to make an effortless superfluid swing, Linc uses techniques that improve his golf game and his life. Kjell (pronounced Shell) Enghager has worked internationally as a coach for the successful Swedish women's golf team and for celebrity athletes in a variety of sports. He has taught golf to thousands of people and helped many novices become touring professionals and world champions. If he can help them improve, he can help you.

Download or read book Golf in the Kingdom written by Michael Murphy and published by Open Road Media. This book was released on 2011-06-07 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A spiritual journey, a lush travelogue, a parable of sports and philosophy—John Updike called this unique novel “a golf classic if any exists in our day.” When an American traveler on his way to India stops to play a round on one of the most beautiful and legendary golf courses in Scotland, he doesn’t know that his game—and his life—are about to change forever. He is introduced to Shivas Irons, a mysterious golf pro whose sublime insights stick with him long after the eighteenth hole. From the first swing of the Scotsman’s club, he realizes he is in for a most extraordinary day. By turns comic, existential, and semiautobiographical, Michael Murphy’s tale traces the arc of twenty-four hours, from a round of golf on the Links of Burningbush to a night fueled by whiskey, wisdom, and wandering—even a sighting of Seamus MacDuff, the holy man who haunts the hole they call Lucifer’s Rug. “Murphy’s book is going to alter many visions,” The New York Times Book Review declared. More than an unforgettable approach to one of the world’s most popular sports, Golf in the Kingdom is a meditation on the power of a game to transform the self.

Download or read book Computational Physics written by Philipp Scherer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-07-17 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook presents basic and advanced computational physics in a very didactic style. It contains very-well-presented and simple mathematical descriptions of many of the most important algorithms used in computational physics. The first part of the book discusses the basic numerical methods. The second part concentrates on simulation of classical and quantum systems. Several classes of integration methods are discussed including not only the standard Euler and Runge Kutta method but also multi-step methods and the class of Verlet methods, which is introduced by studying the motion in Liouville space. A general chapter on the numerical treatment of differential equations provides methods of finite differences, finite volumes, finite elements and boundary elements together with spectral methods and weighted residual based methods. The book gives simple but non trivial examples from a broad range of physical topics trying to give the reader insight into not only the numerical treatment but also simulated problems. Different methods are compared with regard to their stability and efficiency. The exercises in the book are realised as computer experiments.
