Book Quantitative Separations

Download or read book Quantitative Separations written by Oscar Menis and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first of a series of annual progress reports dealing with the activities of the Quantitative Separations Section of the Analytical Chemistry Division. The work described encompasses the following areas of competences:titrimetry, gravimetry, flame spectrophotometry, spectrophotometry, gas components in metals. It includes also areas dealing with uranium and plutonium chemistry. Its major effort during the past year was to establish the most accurate values for the chemical composition of over twenty-five standard reference materials by means of the above listed analytical disciplines. The group performed the analysis and ascertained the accuracy of the methods selected for certifying values for a given composition of the material.(Author).

Book Recent Advances in Chiral Separations

Download or read book Recent Advances in Chiral Separations written by D. Stevenson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume represents the proceedings of the second international meeting on chiral separations held at the University of Surrey between the 12th and 15th of September 1989. Like the preceding meeting, it was jointly organised by the Chromatographic Society and the Robens Institute of the University of Surrey in response to the continued interest in this area of separation science. Of particular interest to the organisers was the very clear change in the nature of the delegates attending this second symposium as compared with the first. At the previous meeting the majority of the delegates were composed of chromatographers with problems in the area of chiral separations who were keen to learn as much as possible about these techniques from the handful of recognised experts in this area. In this second symposium the divide between expert and novice was much less apparent, with the latter providing many interesting and useful contributions to the scientific programme in termt; of both oral and poster presentations.

Book Quantitative Thin Layer Chromatography

Download or read book Quantitative Thin Layer Chromatography written by Bernd Spangenberg and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-01-03 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) is widely used particularly for pharmaceutical and food analysis. While there are a number of books on the qualitative identification of chemical substances by TLC, the unique focus here is on quantitative analysis. The authors describe all steps of the analytical procedure, beginning with the basics and equipment for quantitative TLC followed by sample pretreatment and sample application, development and staining, scanning, and finally statistical and chemometric data evaluation and validation. An important feature is the coverage of effect-directed biological detection methods. Chapters are organized in a modular fashion facilitating the easy location of information about individual procedural steps.

Book Separation Techniques in Analytical Chemistry

Download or read book Separation Techniques in Analytical Chemistry written by Rudolf Bock and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2023-07-24 with total page 642 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The separation of a mixture into its individual components is one of the most fundamental procedures in analytical and industrial chemistry. This classic book in analytical chemistry provides a comprehensive yet systematic outline of all known separation methods. Through its detailed treatment of the basic principles of separation possibilities, it not only covers what is currently known, but also represents a treasure trove of methods that are still awaiting further development. It is clearly structured and contains interesting examples, further reading and a detailed index. An indispensable book for advanced students of natural sciences (chemistry, biochemistry, food chemistry, pharmacy, clinical chemistry, environmental sciences) and technology (chemical engineering, chemical-physical measurement & biotechnology), as well as teachers of these disciplines.

Book Quantitative Pareto Analysis by Cone Separation Technique

Download or read book Quantitative Pareto Analysis by Cone Separation Technique written by Ignacy Kaliszewski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work results from my interest in the field of vector optimiza tion. I stumbled first upon this subject in 1982 during my six months visit to the Istituto di Elaborazione della Informazione in Pisa, Italy, supported by a fellowship of the (Italian) Consiglio Nationale delle Richerche. I was attracted then by a gap between vector optimiza tion used to serve as a formal model for multiple objective decision problems and the decision problems themselves, the gap nonexis tent in scalar optimization. Roughly speaking, vector optimization provides methods for ranking decisions according to a partial order whereas decision making requires a linear ordering of decisions. The book deals with vector optimization. However, vector opti mization is considered here not only as a topic of research in itself but also as a basic tool for decision making. In consequence, all results presented here are aimed at exploiting and understanding the structure of elements (decisions) framed by a vector optimiza tion problem with the underlying assumption that the results should be interpretable in terms and applicable in the context of decision making. Computational tractability of results is therefore of special concern throughout this book. A unified framework for presentation is offered by the Cone Sep aration Technique (CST) founded on the notion of cone separation.

Book Polyurethane Foam Sorbents in Separation Science

Download or read book Polyurethane Foam Sorbents in Separation Science written by Braun and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-01-18 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to present in a monographic and systematised form a review of all the literature devoted to polyurethane-based polymeric sorbents in separation chemistry. The primary types of sorbents dealt with are polyurethane foams and open-pore polyurethanes. The structure of the monograph follows this dichotomy. A book of this nature should stimulate thinking and incite its reader to consult the original literature. It will, however, not make such a consultation superfluous. A fair amount of the results described in this monograph constitute the main activity of investigation which took place in the authors laboratories during the past decade.
