Book The Post Qualifying Handbook for Social Workers

Download or read book The Post Qualifying Handbook for Social Workers written by Wade Tovey and published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. This book was released on 2007-07-15 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This handbook provides guidance for all practising social work professionals, and the staff who support them, on the post-qualifying (PQ) framework for social workers. The book introduces the framework and outlines how post-qualification accreditation and professional registration affect social workers. Covering the theory and practice of social work, the Handbook provides a set of tools and resources that enable social workers to develop their practice while coping with the demands of operational duties. The book looks at working with a range of service user groups such as children, people with learning disabilities and young offenders, as well as examining common issues that social workers may encounter, such as inter-agency work, and issues such as loss and participation. Tackling the increased post-qualification training necessitated by the new framework, this handbook contains resources and materials to help practitioners continue their own professional development. This definitive guide is an invaluable resource for all practising qualified social workers, students and trainers, and educators. Consultant editor: Robert Adams is Professor of Social Work in the School of Health and Social Care at the University of Teesside, UK.

Book ALWAYS BE QUALIFYING

Download or read book ALWAYS BE QUALIFYING written by Darius Lahoutifard and published by 01consulting. This book was released on 2023-10-21 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the past few years, companies large and small have called on me to get help with their non-performing sales team. The described symptoms are different from one company to another. Some need more revenue. Others complain about unreliable forecasts, with deals slipping constantly from one quarter to another before being lost or even abandoned a few quarters later. Some CEOs notice unproductive sales teams with an unusually high number of non-quota-carrying people needed in the sales force, hitting the bottom line hard. All these symptoms are related to the same illness: inability to qualify. Since most sales teams put in place organizations including SDR (Sales Development Representatives) or BDR (Business Development Representatives) who qualify leads for Account Managers, there is a wrong unstated assumption, widely spread, that once a lead is qualified, the inside sales or field sales will have to work on them until they are won or lost. Ongoing qualification is often the issue. Qualification is not a binary step of the sales process. Qualification is a mindset and a habit to apply throughout the sales process, from the first call to closing. This book covers both the Why and the How of sales qualification. I was an early sales leader at PTC where the MEDDIC methodology took shape. I am also the founder of MEDDIC Academy, the first platform to bring the qualification methodology online. This book describes the M.E.D.D.I.C. and the MEDDPICC® sales methodology in depth. This is not a book of theories, research, or academic concepts but pure execution techniques with practical recipes. At a high level, MEDDIC is a checklist that helps sales professionals reveal the gaps in an opportunity and execute correctly to fill those gaps and close the deal or drop it early. This book is an excellent complement to the training and workshops we deliver online and in-person globally.

Download or read book Road to Recovery written by Sanchita Basu Das and published by Institute of Southeast Asian Studies. This book was released on 2010-08-03 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Singapore had been one of the nations severely affected by the 2008-09 global financial and economic crisis. The city state came under pressure through the financial, trade, and confidence channels. To counter these shocks, Singapore policymakers undertook unprecedented monetary and fiscal policy measures. They subsequently charted a revival strategy that would help the country emerge stronger after the crisis. These all-encompassing policies together with the global economic recovery in 2009 helped the city state bounce back faster and stronger than many other regional economies. This book provides an insight into the events that occurred during the crisis and Singapore's successful navigation to economic recovery. "Although much has been written about the global financial crisis of 2008-09, not enough has been said about how it affected Singapore and the policy response. In this highly readable book, Sanchita Basu Das fills this gap, explaining how the crisis rippled through the Singapore economy via trade channels, the financial sector, and asset markets. But the greatest strength of this volume is its comprehensive account of the extraordinary measures Singapore put in place to deal pre-emptively with what could have been huge declines in output and employment in the face of the collapse of trade and credit flows. Singapore's multi-pronged approach, and especially the fiscal support and loan guarantees contained in the 2009 budget, must go down as one of the boldest and most creative policy responses to a crisis. It is a valuable lesson to economics students and practitioners alike. This book gives you the full story." Vikram Khanna Associate Editor The Business Times "Sanchita Basu Das is to be congratulated for providing a fascinating, accessible, and forward-looking analysis of Singapore's response to the global economic crisis of 2008-09. As a highly trade-dependent economy, Singapore was hit hard by these events. But the government was nimble and quick to react. The author describes and evaluates this response, and draws out general lessons for crisis management and mitigation in small open economies. Highly recommended." Hal Hill H.W. Arndt Professor of Southeast Asian Economies Australian National University. "This is a comprehensive account of the impact of the global financial crisis on Singapore -- one of the most open economies in the world -- and policy responses by the government and central bank. The book identifies the need to move to a more knowledge-intensive economy as the key policy challenge for post-crisis Singapore." Masahiro Kawai Dean and CEO Asian Development Bank Institute "Singapore was affected disproportionately by the global economic crisis of 2008-09. While it is currently rebounding impressively, government officials and the private sector would do well to learn from the crisis experience in devising future policies. Moreover, the Singapore experience is instructive as to how external economic shocks can be transmitted to open economies and, hence, has great relevance beyond its borders. This book by Sanchita Basu Das gives a comprehensive survey of Singapore in crisis and provides a wealth of information and insightful analysis, using clear, non-technical language. It is extremely useful contribution to scholars, policymakers, and other students of Asian economics." Michael G. Plummer Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
