Book Quaid i Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah

Download or read book Quaid i Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah written by S. M. Burke and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1997 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: That Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah won Pakistan against impossible odds, is well known, but the real reasons for Jinnah's successes are not widely recognized. The suspicion lingers that his policies were communal and negative and that Pakistan was a mistake. The reason for this is that the critics of Pakistan have written more voluminously and powerfully than its defenders. This book convincingly shows that it was Mahatma Gandhi who first introduced religion into politics. This ultimately drove the Hindus and the Muslims irreconcilably apart and eventually convinced even Jinnah - who had won the accolade of being the Ambassador of Hindu-Muslim Unity - that his dream of a united India was nothing but a mirage.

Book The Charismatic Leader

Download or read book The Charismatic Leader written by Sikandar Hayat and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 2008 with total page 416 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a detailed and systematic analysis of the charismatic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the leader of Indian Muslims during the crisis-ridden decade of 1937-47. Based on the concept of charisma formulated by Max Weber and developed by recent writers, the study concentrates on the 'personality-related' and 'situational' factors that led to the emergence of Jinnah as the charismatic leader of the Muslims and sustained him in that role until the creation of Pakistan. In explaining and explicating Jinnah's charisma, his early political career and the crises facing the Muslims of British India, both systemic and of leadership, have been examined at length. This has been followed by a critical appraisal of Jinnah's formula of Pakistan, his strategy for political mobilization of the Muslims under the banner of the All-India Muslim League, and his extraordinary skills and abilities in negotiating with the British and Congress leaders who were united in their opposition to Pakistan. Recognizing him as their charismatic leader, and moved by the Pakistan demand, the Muslim masses rallied behind him, with the result that at the creation of Pakistan in August 1947, his charisma was truly at its zenith. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Every Pakistani from the youngest child to your eldest scholar should read this wonderful book Quotes from the Quaid with pride and joy. Each page contains at least one inspiring thought culled from the life’s work of your great leader, illuminating Quaid-e-Azam’s humane brilliance and the wisdom of his remarkable mind”, writes Professor Stanley Wolpert in his foreword to the book. The decision by the Jinnah Society to publish Quotes from the Quaid as an e-book responds to the need for increasing awareness of Jinnah's leadership and the Pakistan Movement; the ever-increasing demand for this book from Pakistanis and the need to make Quotes from the Quaid available to all in and outside Pakistan easily as an e-book free of cost particularly in these troubled times caused by the Coronavirus all over the world. The book has previously sold more than 20,000 copies and was distributed to schools, colleges and universities for free. It was published first in 2007 by Oxford University Press and then again in 2020 by Lightstone Publishers. Mr. Liaquat Merchant, President of The Jinnah Society. said that the sole purpose of The Jinnah Society in bringing out Quotes from the Quaid in hard copy and now as an e-book constitutes one more effort to propagate and promote the principles, ideals, and vision of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as a nation-building exercise and thus promote the development of democratic leaders in the role model of Mr Jinnah with particular emphasis on private honour and public integrity.

Book Muslims against the Muslim League

Download or read book Muslims against the Muslim League written by Ali Usman Qasmi and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2017-09-15 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The popularity of the Muslim League and its idea of Pakistan has been measured in terms of its success in achieving the goal of a sovereign state in the Muslim majority regions of North West and North East India. It led to an oversight of Muslim leaders and organizations which were opposed to this demand, predicating their opposition to the League on its understanding of the history and ideological content of the Muslim nation. This volume takes stock of multiple narratives about Muslim identity formation in the context of debates about partition, historicizes those narratives, and reads them in the light of the larger political milieu of the period. Focusing on the critiques of the Muslim League, its concept of the Muslim nation, and the political settlement demanded on its behalf, it studies how the movement for Pakistan inspired a contentious, influential conversation on the definition of the Muslim nation.

Book The Charismatic Leader

Download or read book The Charismatic Leader written by Sikandar Hayat and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on the concept of charisma formulated by Max Weber and developed by recent writers, this second revised edition concentrates on 'personality-related' and 'situational' factors that led to the emergence of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah as the charismatic leader of Muslim India and sustained and strengthened him in that role to help create the separate state of Pakistan. While a few authors have dubbed Jinnah as a charismatic leader, hardly any one has defined or discussed the concept of charisma methodically or employed it systematically to analyse his charisma and charismatic leadership. In this sense, the present study is distinct and makes an original and unique contribution to the scholarly literature on Jinnah's political leadership. Dr Roger D. Long, a distinguished American historian on South Asia, thus acknowledged: 'Dr Hayat's analysis of Jinnah as a charismatic figure fills an important lacuna in the field'. Hence, this study will help interested, informed readers to see Jinnah in a new, fuller, and refreshing light. They will see a new Jinnah: The Charismatic Leader!
