As Derek sinks into a coma, his mind returns to the winter he first fell for Nick, the bad boy with arctic blue eyes. But in this coma-fantasy, Derek isn't a helpless child anymore. To pull his lover back from the land of dreams, he must say what he's never said before. Derek has a choice -- remain lost in his imagined world, or return to Nick in the here and now where forever truly exists.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Paul Bunyan yarns have generally been conceded first place among the lies of all time, but here is Febold Feboldson, a Swede who has pushed his way out front and deserves recognition as the most accomplished, the most unqualified, the least repetitious, and--for a change--the most laughable legendary figure to steal the spotlight."--Buffalo, N.Y., Evening News. "Gorgeous reading for all who love genuine Americana."--The American Mercury. "Let us give Febold his full due as a purely regional phenomenon. As such--as an expression of the never-ending fight of Nebraskans against drought, flood, blistering heat, paralyzing cold, choking dust, and bottomless mud--he is very nearly perfect. . . . Paul Beath has done regional literature a service by collecting these richly imaginative tales."--Victor P. Hass, Chicago Sunday Tribune Magazine of Books. "Everyone who loves American folklore will welcome this book. . . . The book contains no less than fourteen tales or groups of anecdotes, all of them cheerful, sly, or hilarious."--Stanley Vestal, The Daily Oklahoman. "Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, John Henry, and others of heroic mold may move over and listen a while. . . . Febold, the big Swede who homesteaded down on the Dismal River, his only neighbors the Dirtyleg tribe of Indians, is a folk character made almost before our eyes."--Kansas City Star.

She’s doomed to be turn into Watchmen to forever serve the asylum. She’s caught forever in a looping fragmented dream world of dreams, dreams which are forever monitored by prying eyes. Just when you think you know what’s coming next, you get thrown a sharp curve, so prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of a ride. Look for Weirdens Black Book, The first serious to this book, Pharafaneelya. Coming soon…… Writing books enables me to tell fiction stories in shattered mirrors—mirrors that may have passed through some unlucky soul once and live to tell about it. There’s a positive message in all the stories, and I hope the readers can find it through all the insanity and emotion of the book. Ultimately, having readers that like your creativity and your twisted style of the writing, is enough one could ask for. One can only hope to keep the eager readers neurons firing and their attention glued to the whole story, captured by the shockers in each special chapter—capturing and keeping—the reader a part of the story. I truly want to create books that readers, can, read a long with each other and have fun doing it.

Download or read book To the Ends of Japan written by Bruce L. Batten and published by University of Hawaii Press. This book was released on 2003-02-28 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is Japan? Who are its people? These questions are among those addressed in Bruce Batten's ambitious study of Japan's historical development through the nineteenth century. Traditionally, Japan has been portrayed as a homogenous society formed over millennia in virtual isolation. Social historians and others have begun to question this view, emphasizing diversity and interaction, both within the Japanese archipelago and between Japan and other parts of Eurasia. Until now, however, no book has attempted to resolve these conflicting views in a comprehensive, systematic way. To the Ends of Japan tackles the "big questions" on Japan by focusing on its borders, broadly defined to include historical frontiers and boundaries within the islands themselves as well as the obvious coastlines and oceans. Batten provides compelling arguments for viewing borders not as geographic "givens," but as social constructs whose location and significance can, and do, change over time. By giving separate treatment to the historical development of political, cultural, and ethnic borders in the archipelago, he highlights the complex, multifaceted nature of Japanese society, without losing sight of the more fundamental differences that have separated Japan from its nearest neighbors in the archipelago and on the Eurasian continent.
Download or read book Macrocognition in Teams written by Michael P. Letsky and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-09-18 with total page 739 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Team collaboration involves many operational tasks such as team decision-making or course of action selection, developing shared understanding, and intelligence analysis. These operational tasks must be performed in many situations, often under severe time pressure, with information and knowledge uncertainty, large amounts of dynamic information and across different team characteristics. Recent research in this area has focused on various aspects of human collaborative decision-making and the underlying cognitive processes while describing those processes at different levels of detail, making it difficult to compare research results. The theoretical construct of ’macrocognition in teams’ was developed to facilitate cognitive research in team collaboration, which will enable a common level of understanding when defining, measuring and discussing the cognitive processes in team collaboration. Macrocognition is defined as both the internalized and externalized mental processes employed by team members in complex, one-of-a-kind, collaborative problem solving. Macrocognition in Teams provides readers with a greater understanding of the macrocognitive processes which support collaborative team activity, showcasing current research, theories, methodologies and tools. It will be of direct relevance to academics, researchers and practitioners interested in group/team interaction, performance, development and training.
