Book La d mocratie multiculturelle

Download or read book La d mocratie multiculturelle written by Marco Martiniello and published by Les Presses de Sciences Po. This book was released on 2011 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Ethnicit et citoyennet written by Christophe Bertossi and published by Editions L'Harmattan. This book was released on 2006-05-01 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Intercultural Citizenship in the Post Multicultural Era

Download or read book Intercultural Citizenship in the Post Multicultural Era written by Ricard Zapata-Barrero and published by SAGE. This book was released on 2019-07-08 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the intercultural policy paradigm emerging within diversity and migration studies. Drawing on empirical studies of cultural diversity and placing a focus on the current crises of identity in Europe, Zapata-Barrero argues for an intercultural model of citizenship that prioritises contact between diverse people. In looking forward to a post-multicultural era, his analysis suggests how we can better manage the challenges presented by our increasingly complex, multifaceted societies. This thoughtful text will appeal to students and scholars across politics, sociology, anthropology and social psychology, as well as policy makers and social entrepreneurs around the world grappling with issues around migration, diversity and citizenship. Ricard Zapata-Barrero is a Full Professor of Political and Social Sciences at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain). He is also Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Immigration at UPF, and Master in Migration Studies. He is member of the Board of Directors for IMISCOE and Chair of the External Affairs Committee. For information about publications, go to his webpage: www.upf.edu/web/ricard-zapata

Book Citizenship and Belonging in France and North America

Download or read book Citizenship and Belonging in France and North America written by Ramona Mielusel and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-01-09 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first decades of the new millennium have been marked by major political changes. Although The West has wished to revisit internal and international politics concerning migration policies, refugee status, integration, secularism, and the dismantling of communitarianism, events like the Syrian refugee crisis, the terrorist attacks in France in 2015-2016, and the economic crisis of 2008 have resurrected concepts such as national identity, integration, citizenship and re-shaping state policies in many developed countries. In France and Canada, more recent public elections have brought complex democratic political figures like Emmanuel Macron and Justin Trudeau to the public eye. Both leaders were elected based on their promising political agendas that aimed at bringing their countries into the new millennium; Trudeau promotes multiculturalism, while Macron touts the diverse nation and the inclusion of diverse ethnic communities to the national model. This edited collection aims to establish a dialogue between these two countries and across disciplines in search of such discursive illustrations and opposing discourses. Analyzing the cultural and political tensions between minority groups and the state in light of political events that question ideas of citizenship and belonging to a multicultural nation, the chapters in this volume serve as a testimonial to the multiple views on the political and public perception of multicultural practices and their national and international applicability to our current geopolitical context.

Book Le Multiculturalisme en proc s

Download or read book Le Multiculturalisme en proc s written by Isabelle Barbéris and published by Mialet Barrault Éditeur. This book was released on 2023-10-25T00:00:00+02:00 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Int gration lien social et citoyennet written by Robert Deliège and published by Presses Universitaires Du Septentrion. This book was released on 1998 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Multicultural Citizenship of the European Union

Download or read book Multicultural Citizenship of the European Union written by Juan M. Delgado-Moreira and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-01-17 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book develops an exploratory theory of immigration in multilevel states addressing two themes: governance and political parties. It explores the theoretical debate over how to reconcile multiculturalism, citizenship and the need for a collective identity within the European Union. It examines not only how, and by whom, immigration policy is decided and implemented at different levels, but also how it has become a key-issue of party politics. It explores the steps taken by EU institutions towards creating a European identity and fostering a sense of citizenship and collective heritage. It studies the theory of how best to reconcile multiculturalism, citizenship and the need for collective identity at the European Union (EU) level by comparing EU citizenship with cultural citizenship and multicultural studies in the United States. In addition to this, through the study of EU documents, the author contends that there exists such a thing as policies of multicultural citizenship at the European Union level.
