Book Psychometry is the natural but latent faculty in us

Download or read book Psychometry is the natural but latent faculty in us written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2020-06-12 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Madame Blavatsky on the natural but latent faculty in us, by which the inner self cognizes the dynamic world of causes. Not only are the images of the past in the picture galleries of Akasha, but also the sounds of past voices, even the perfumes of archaic flowers withered ages ago, and the aromas of fruits that hung on trees when man was but a mumbling savage, and polar ice, a mile thick, covered what are now the fairest countries under the sun. Even upon the walls of our most private apartments, where we think the eye of intrusion is altogether shut out and our retirement can never be profaned, there exist the vestiges of all our acts, silhouettes of whatever we have done. Amidst a counterfeit Christianity, a stolid science and widespread pettiness, America is the kingdom of avarice and greed, coarse materialism, and hypocritical selfishness.

Book Bhagavan Das on the Triune Nature of Emotions

Download or read book Bhagavan Das on the Triune Nature of Emotions written by Bhagavan Das and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-01-03 with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Manas-mind, its vehicle, kāma-desire, and their interplay with other minds through karma-action are hard concepts to grasp without an appreciation that they are a single dynamic trinity, and not three ontologically distinct ideas. In his Science of the Emotions, Bhagavān Dās undertakes a bold and incisive study of the continuum of Desire-Thought-Action, where he demonstrates elegantly and convincingly that “emotions” and “feelings,” mostly mixed and lumped together by the ignoramus, are none other than the workings of this occult triplet. Mastership of the mind’s pendular māyāvic movements, swinging back and forth from the Centre of Being, is prerequisite to success in whatever domain it chooses to focus upon. Dr. Dās identifies the essential nature of Desire, elaborates upon the duality of primordial e-motions and their endless permutations, and proceeds unravelling the aetiology of attitudes and their behavioural implications. His Science sheds light on man’s lower propensities which, if left unchecked, will go on demeaning character and disgracing kith and kin. He instructs, amuses, and enlightens the reader through a series of pithy essays. He even lays bare the distinguishing qualities between confusingly similar emotions, from Devotion and Worship, to Smile and Laughter. The Science of the Emotions remains the definitive text for those seeking knowledge of self and Self.

Book The Sixth Sense is Reason over Instinct

Download or read book The Sixth Sense is Reason over Instinct written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-01-23 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Sixth Sense is Mental Fire perceiving and registering the other five. There can be no perception without a unitary percipient whose identity enables it to grasp an object as an entirety, says Plotinus. Reason is purely human; instinct, an endowment of deity. Divine or Spiritual Soul (nous) without Anima Mundi is rational and noetic (logos); Animal or Astral Soul (psyche) within Anima Mundi, irrational and phrenic (alogos). Reason is the outcome of a slow development of the human brain (noetikon); instinct, the spiritual unity of the five senses endowed by Deity (aisthetikon). Reason is purely human; instinct, an endowment of Deity. But reason can only develop at the expense of natural instinct. The Sixth Sense will be fully developed in the average man of the Sixth Race by Buddhi, when galvanised by the essence of the awakened Manas. Water, one of four primordial Elements, was transmitted to us by the Fourth Race, as we shall transmit Ether, the Fifth Element, to the Sixth. Then our Sixth Sense shall be awakened. The Sixth Sense or “normal clairvoyance” will correspond to the next Element of Matter or “permeability,” i.e., spiritual sight. Then, those who have been seeking a “fourth dimension” to explain the passage of matter through matter shall find what they sought, a sixth characteristic of matter. Abstractions such as the “fourth dimension,” being outside mental perception and experience, are errors of realism if not unfortunate verbalisms. When the Fifth Principle has merged with the Sixth, man will acquire and enjoy Jnanashakti, the power and privileges of enlightened mind. Man is the child of Cyclic Destiny. Cycles of Materiality will be succeeded by Cycles of Spirituality, and fully developed faculties will open up the Sixth Sense. The majority of future men will be glorious Adepts. Having acquired physical development at the expense of spirituality from the Second Race to the end of the Fourth, Fifth Race humanity has now crossed the meridian of perfect adjustment between Spirit and Matter, or equilibrium between spiritual perception and brain intellect. But as the Sixth Sense has hardly sprouted above the soil of materiality, few can at present enjoy the legitimate outgrowth and endowments of the higher life. When the Third Eye or Dangma Eye of the Stanzas of Dzyan opens again, the minds of those who will live at that time shall be awakened and become as pellucid as crystal. Finally, when the Sixth Sense has awakened the Seventh, Chrestos shall be regenerated as Christos and will illumine the souls of all men. “And they will listen to my voice; and they shall become one flock under one Shepherd.”

Book From the stronghold of your soul chase all your foes away ambition anger hatred

Download or read book From the stronghold of your soul chase all your foes away ambition anger hatred written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-01-03 with total page 25 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Anger is one of three self-destructing states of mind; the other two are worldly love and delusion. Bhagavan Das posits Anger in the mid-point of the not-Self continuum: Hate towards Equals gives rise to Anger; towards Superiors, to Fear; towards Inferiors, to Scorn. Anger is the passion of fools; it becometh not a wise man. Socrates defines Anger as raging and seething of the soul. Aristotle, as boiling of the blood around the heart. Plato suggests that though pain, fear, anger, and other feelings are given to men by necessity, “if they conquered these they would live righteously, and if they were conquered by them, unrighteously.” In order to help men, the Gods protected the heart by surrounding it with the soft and cool thicket of lungs to chill out the heat of anger. “Dig not fire with a sword but by governing the tongue and being quiet, friendship is produced from strife, the fire of anger being extinguished, and you yourself will not appear to be destitute of intellect,” advises Pythagoras. If Love is the fever of the species, Anger is the self-consuming fire. Indeed it is life atoms that a man in a blind passion throws off, unconsciously, and he does it quite as effectively as a mesmeriser who transfers them from himself to any object consciously and under the guidance of his will. Anger is an insurmountable obstacle between reality and illusion. That is why abstinence from Anger is one of Duty’s ten virtues. “Act then, all ye who fail and suffer, act like him; and from the stronghold of your Soul, chase all your foes away — ambition, anger, hatred, e’en to the shadow of desire — when even you have failed” says the Voice of the Silence. To take the Kingdom of God by violence is Kabbalistic parlance for reaching Nirvana by artificially-induced conditions. To Dare, to Will, to Achieve, and to keep Silent, is the motto of the true Occultist. “The science of the gods is mastered by violence; it must be conquered, and does not give itself.” One key is the sacrifice of Prometheus who, by allowing men to proceed consciously on the path of spiritual evolution, transformed the most perfect of animals on earth into a potential god, making him free to “take the kingdom of heaven by violence.” We cannot attain Adeptship and Nirvana, Bliss and the “Kingdom of Heaven,” unless we link ourselves indissolubly with our Rex Lucis, the Lord of Splendour and of Light, our immortal God within us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Divine Spirit never enters into the soul of living men. Neither the Gods of the Pagan, the direct emanations of the First Cause, never were or will ever be men — on our planet, at least. Divine Mind (nous) and Animal Soul (psyche) are pre-existent. But while the former is a distinct entity, an individualization of Mahat, the latter is an unscient portion of an intelligent whole. The one radiates without the Soul of the World, the other emanates within. Beware! It is only by observing the law of harmony that individuals can live hereafter. When one falls into a love of self and love of the world, with its pleasures, losing the divine love of God and of the neighbour, he falls from the illusionary life and fear of death to real death. The higher principles which constitute the essential elements of his humanity perish, and he lives only on the natural plane of his faculties. Physically he exists but spiritually he is dead. Antahkarana is the path or bridge that keeps the Divine Consciousness apart from its earthly shadow during life. At death it is destroyed, as a medium of communication, and its remains survive for a time as Kama-Rupa or “shell.” Lesson 1. “Ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God.” In other words, real Life is a conscious existence in Spirit, not matter. Lesson 2. Immortality can be secured only by mastering the principles of Cosmos and Man, as well as and their permanent and impermanent aspects. If Apophis conquers a soul, it cannot escape its second death. No noble thought, no grand aspiration, desire, or divine immortal love, can enter into the brain of the man of clay and settle there, except as a direct emanation from the Higher Ego through the lower; And conversely, only the finest spiritual ideations that Kama-Manas was able to transmit to Buddhi-Manas during life can be assimilated by the Higher Ego and, thence, survive death. For the lower ego is the exclusive mediator between the mortal personality and the Immortal God within. When Esoteric Teachings allude to the “second death,” they refer to the terrible possibility of the death of the Astral Soul, that is, its severance from the Higher Ego during a person’s lifetime. Only Occultists of the White Lodge, by explaining the circumstances that can lead a soul to its demise, can protect mankind from falling into such a dreadful pitfall. The connection between Higher and Lower Manas can never be ruptured and final reunion prevented, so long as there remains one spiritual deed, or potentiality, to serve as a thread of union; but the moment this last spark is extinguished, and the last potentiality exhausted, then comes the severance. The terrible implications of this second death become apparent when a Higher Ego has severed its links with its lower but totally unworthy agent, thereby any communication between the two (Antahkarana) is permanently lost. Any spiritual impulses from the Higher that may have previously benefitted an individual are now discontinued. There is no hope for the spiritually dead, for his glorious Augoeides have left him forever. Expelled forever from the sanctuary of Spiritual Consciousness, the rudderless personality is immediately reincarnated only in a lower and still more abject creature, a human being only in form, doomed to Karmic torments during the whole of its new life. Here two questions present themselves: 1. What becomes of the Higher Ego in such cases? Answer: The Divine Soul has to start all over again, or seek refuge within the Universal Soul. 2. What kind of an animal is a human creature born soulless? Answer: Terrible is the fate of the man who is about to lose his soul. He drifts aimlessly, a mere animal almost paralyzed with daily vice, and grows gradually unaware of its Lord and Mighty Host. Like a vampire, the brain feeds and expands at the expense of its spiritual parent, becoming senseless and beyond hope of redemption.

Book There is no need for expensive funerals

Download or read book There is no need for expensive funerals written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-01-21 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Funerals have originated among the theocratically governed nations. They are an afterthought of the priest, an outgrowth of theological and clerical ambition, seeking to impress upon the laity a superstition, a well-paying awe and dread of a punishment of which the priest himself knows nothing beyond mere speculative and often illogical hypotheses. Very few among the so-called savage races were encumbered by funeral rites, unlike the extravagant expenditure lavished by Hindus and Parsis, as well as by Roman Catholics and Greeks, upon obsequial ceremonies.

Book The Hindu practice of Pind Daan or Shraddha is a mere superstition

Download or read book The Hindu practice of Pind Daan or Shraddha is a mere superstition written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2024-06-11 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While doubting the omnipotence of Gadadhara and her threats, we trust the word of honest pilgrims who saw “the shadow of their departed relatives.” The earth’s atmosphere is jam-packed with the astral remains of men and women disintegrating in the limbus of the Roman Catholics (kama-loka) images of empty shells (ghosts) that are magnetically drawn to those whom they had loved on earth. The Hindu practice of Pind Daan or Shraddha is a mere superstition, and any effects thereby produced are caused unconsciously by the strong belief of the temple’s priest. The best way to help a restless ghost is to stop thinking of it, and allow nature to take its course. The body being only the covering of the soul, at its dissolution we shall discover all the secrets of nature, and darkness shall be dispelled, says Seneca. No man or priest can impede the immutable law of nature (karma), especially after the death of the person that evolved it. The departed should be left alone to rest in peace, in the bosom of the earth. It is the cunning Brahmans who need the Pind Daan more than the Asuras, and the greedy Christian clergy who exploit the credulity of their pious laity by extorting money from the bereaved in useless ceremonies and prayers upon the dead.
