Like Dante who, in middle age wakes up to find himself in a dark wood and responds with The Divine Comedy, our Hero, in the seventh year of the seventh cycle of seven years in his life, wakes up to find himself in a labyrinth. His response is to spin an Ariadne thread of consciousness through time to orient himself within it and hopefully uncover the mystery of his (i)-dentity. Is this too a comedy? If so, do we laugh at or with our struggling hero?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hardships and pain are inevitable and will be encountered in everyone's life. At some point in our life, we will experience hardships, pain, and suffering, for no one can escape them. Prepared people aren't as badly affected by the inevitability of hardships as those who aren't prepared. How you deal with hardships defines your future. Hardships and suffering define your character and make you better. Pain and hardship give one an opportunity to grow as a person. They are impermanent and won't last. Nothing in our universe escapes impermanence. Keep the truth "it won't last" in your mind. Strength comes from realizing that other people are going through what you're going through. Pain and suffering can't be avoided and sometimes come acutely. Fierce experiences are a part of life. Negative self-talk increases their effect, while positive self-talk keeps you calm. Use your words to turn negative thoughts into positive ones. Deal with stress through your self-talk. We all talk to ourselves, either out loud or in our heads. Your positive self-talk will reduce stress and help you deal with situations that cause you stress. Control your thoughts and words. Stress and anxiety can help us make the necessary changes in our lives and help us to act in our best interest. Everyone has feelings of nervousness, tension, and stress at times. Practice relaxation techniques to control your mind. Deep breathing helps the entire body let go and loosen up. Your mind and body must feel peaceful and strong in order to handle life's ups and downs. Keep your mind off of worry by focusing your thoughts on beautiful, happy, and positive things.

Laurel Keyes teaches you how to eat what you want until you are completely satisfied. This method works!Instead of looking for ?what?s wrong with you,? we look for ?what?s right.? As a sculptor focuses attention on the image of the finished statue he intends to bring out of the stone, letting chips from his chisel fall away unnoticed, so do we keep a picture of the potentialities of each person before us?we help the Real Person emerge from his or her prison of fat, and let the faults and failures drop away as they will.If you have tried everything and you believe that nothing will conquer your weight and appetite and that no one understands your problem, you are wrong. Laurel Keyes struggled with an overweight problem all of her life and could not lose at all. ?My will power was exhausted.?She was convinced that the chief factor in treating obesity had been overlooked. Treatment had been for the result of overeating instead of the cause. She found a way to do it and lose weight, and keep it off!

Book excerpt: A lady once casually remarked on British public broadcasting that a third of society is depressed but no one ever speaks about it. Perhaps, in all seriousness, it is to this third of the population that this book is addressed. However you don't have to be depressed to read it. Potentially it is both amusing and instructive, light and deep. Shocked by the approach of his fiftieth year, an English bachelor makes a desperate attempt to become inwardly aware of his given circumstances. The attempt is sustained as a trial over a complete seven-year cycle in his life, leading virtually to the constitution of a new self. Occasionally enlivened by humour, what is particularly valuable in this account of Hero's manoeuvrings in time is its honesty and sustained sense of hope.
