Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book 3 Boys 2 Dogs 1 Ex Husband and Absolutely No Idea

Download or read book 3 Boys 2 Dogs 1 Ex Husband and Absolutely No Idea written by Elisabeth Mary and published by Austin Macauley Publishers. This book was released on 2022-10-31 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘I never thought, when I met my husband at 18, got married at 25, had my third baby at 30 or even two years ago when I started writing this book, that I would find myself in the position I am now... a single mum to three boys, two dogs with a now ex-husband. This is a brutally honest account of life since I weed on that stick. Pregnancy, haemorrhoids, cabbage leaves, mum mates, tantrums, holidays, hormones, sex, dogs and divorce. This is definitely not a guide to parenting but it may make you feel a little less alone on the journey.’

Book The Psycho Analysis of Children

Download or read book The Psycho Analysis of Children written by Melanie Klein and published by Random House. This book was released on 2011-06-08 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Psycho-Analysis of Children, first published in 1932, is a classic in its subject, and revolutionised child analysis. Melanie Klein had already proved, by the special technique she devised, that she was a pioneer in that branch of analysis. She made possible the extension of psycho-analysis to the field of early childhood, and in this way not only made the treatment of young children possible but also threw new light on psychological development in childhood and on the roots of adult neuroses and psychoses.

Book New Directions in Psychoanalysis

Download or read book New Directions in Psychoanalysis written by Paula Heimann and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-04-17 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Melanie Klein's contribution to psycho-analysis is centered on her exploration into the early stages of the mental development of the child, which she began while a pupil of Karl Abraham. Taking as her starting point Freud's concept of free association, as used in the analysis of adults, she set herself the task of adapting this technique to the psycho-analytic treatment of children. From this was evolved her play technique whereby, though providing a situation in which a child could play "freely", she was able to interpret his play - that is, describe and explain to him the feelings and phantasies that seemed to be expressed within it. By means of this technique, Klein made a most significant contribution to psycho-analysis. Not only she showed that it is possible to achieve therapeutic results more fruitful than those usually achieved with adults; but she was also able to map out in greater detail than had ever before been possible the early stages of mental development.

Book The Education of Borstal Boys

Download or read book The Education of Borstal Boys written by Erica Stratta and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-08-21 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is Volume VI of fifteen in the Sociology of Law and Criminology Series. Originally published in 1957 this study looks at the educational experiences prior to, and during, Borstal training. The idea that education, or rather the lack of it, is a contributory factor in the crime of the young is far from new. Dr Stratta shows it’s not just a matter of deciding where education fits into the borstal regime, but where the educationalist himself fits into the borstal community.

Book Will They Do it Again

Download or read book Will They Do it Again written by Herschel Prins and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2002-01-04 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Focus in the media on the risks posed to ordinary people has become increasingly strong in recent years - particularly on those risks popularly perceived to be posed by the mentally ill. But how justified is this concern? How do we best manage so-called dangerous people? In Will They Do It Again? Herschel Prins considers the issue of public protection within a broad context of risk in society generally, examining the concerns arising in contemporary society from dealing with uncertainty. It is argued that public fear over the danger posed by the mentally ill is at odds with the evidence, and that much of the concern is focused on a small number of high-profile cases. Prins goes on to examine such cases where management of the mentally ill has failed and sets out suggestions for improvements in practice. Will They Do It Again? cuts through popular misunderstanding and media hype over risk to give a clear, unbiased picture of the real risks to society from the mentally ill and how best they can be contained and managed, and will prove invaluable to a range of practitioners involved in the fields of criminal justice and psychiatry.
