Book Corporate Cultures 2000 Edition

Download or read book Corporate Cultures 2000 Edition written by Terry Deal and published by Basic Books. This book was released on 2000-05-19 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A reissue of the classic best-seller that coined the term 'corporate culture' In the early 1980s, Terry Deal and Allan Kennedy launched a new field of inquiry and practice with the publication of their landmark book, Corporate Cultures, in which they argued that distinct types of cultures evolve within companies, with a direct and measurable impact on strategy and performance. Despite the dramatic evolution of the business landscape over the last twenty years, the basic principles of the book remain as fresh and relevant as they did when it was first published; that organizations, by their very nature, are social enterprises, with tribal habits, well-defined cultural roles for individuals, and various strategies for determining inclusion, reinforcing identity, and adapting to change. In the new introduction, the authors reflect on the enduring lessons of their investigation into the life of organizations. Allan A. Kennedy is a Boston-based writer and management consultant whose new book, The End of Shareholder Value, will be published by Perseus in April.

Book Performance Control in Buyer Supplier Relationships

Download or read book Performance Control in Buyer Supplier Relationships written by Konstantin Gebert and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-07-12 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A company’s ability to best exploit performance potentials within buyer-supplier relationships has become a critical success factor in securing competition and improving a company's overall performance. One powerful attempt to meet this challenge can be found in the application of cross-company management accounting approaches in order to execute performance control. However, implementation of suitable mechanisms and execution of control activities across company boundaries – commonly executed by both partners – is often insufficient because actual improvement potentials are not identified correctly. Embedded in a contingency-based research framework, the author combines several statistical methods to empirically analyze causal relationships between performance and contingent performance-determinants. Resulting in a control process-oriented guideline, findings support companies in the design and use of performance control systems in buyer-supplier relationships and open the field for further research.

Book Shaping the Digital Enterprise

Download or read book Shaping the Digital Enterprise written by Gerhard Oswald and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-09-26 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book sheds light on cross-industry and industry-specific trends in today’s digital economy. Prepared by a group of international researchers, experts and practitioners under the auspices of SAP’s Digital Thought Leadership & Enablement team within SAP’s Business Transformation Services (BTS) unit, the book furthermore presents relevant use cases in digital transformation and innovation. The book argues that breakthrough technologies have matured and hit scale together, enabling five defining trends: hyper-connectivity, supercomputing, cloud computing, a smarter world, and cyber security. It presents in detail how companies are now reimagining their products and services, business models and processes, showcasing how every business today is a digital business. Digitalization, defined as the process of moving to a digital business, is no longer a choice but an imperative for all businesses across all industries and regions. Taking a step toward becoming a digital enterprise is demanding and challenging. The dimensions of customer centricity, leadership and strategy, business models, including offerings (products and services), processes, structure and governance, people and skills, culture, and technology foundation can serve as orientation for digitalization. The articles in this book touch on all dimensions of this digital innovation and transformation framework and offer possible answers to some of the pressing questions that arise when practitioners seek to digitalize their business.

Book Digital Microfluidic Biochips

Download or read book Digital Microfluidic Biochips written by Krishnendu Chakrabarty and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Digital Microfluidic Biochips focuses on the automated design and production of microfluidic-based biochips for large-scale bioassays and safety-critical applications. Bridging areas of electronic design automation with microfluidic biochip research, the authors present a system-level design automation framework that addresses key issues in the design, analysis, and testing of digital microfluidic biochips. The book describes a new generation of microfluidic biochips with more complex designs that offer dynamic reconfigurability, system scalability, system integration, and defect tolerance. Part I describes a unified design methodology that targets design optimization under resource constraints. Part II investigates cost-effective testing techniques for digital microfluidic biochips that include test resource optimization and fault detection while running normal bioassays. Part III focuses on different reconfiguration-based defect tolerance techniques designed to increase the yield and dependability of digital microfluidic biochips. Expanding upon results from ongoing research on CAD for biochips at Duke University, this book presents new design methodologies that address some of the limitations in current full-custom design techniques. Digital Microfluidic Biochips is an essential resource for achieving the integration of microfluidic components in the next generation of system-on-chip and system-in-package designs.

Book Total Quality Management in Health Care

Download or read book Total Quality Management in Health Care written by Hugh C. H. Koch and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The emergence of "total quality" as an approach to organising, sustaining and improving quality of service offers considerable potential benefits to the health service in the 1990s and beyond. TQM is an integral part of effective management, not an optional extra. It is a system which in general results in greater awareness of how performance in delivering health care can be explicitly measured against agreed standards to the satisfaction of both patients and "purchasers". TQM is a comprehensive approach, both cultural and technical, and must embrace all staff, all disciplines and all activities. This text offers a description of what TQM is, how the quality culture can be developed, what the contributory technical components are and the benefits which can accrue from implementing this important organisational initiative.
