This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many books and movies have been created by telling the story of my brother, Muhammad Ali. However, before I am called home, I want to share some of my life stories and memories with this book so people can learn more about my family, my brother, and me through the eyes of a member of the Clay/Ali family. I was there from the beginning and witnessed first-hand how our family s lives were changed as 'The Greatest of all Time' emerged from being a fun-loving kid on the streets of Louisville, Kentucky, to becoming an icon recognized around the world. The memories I share in this book are ones that I will treasure forever. Living through these experiences helped shape my life and made me the man I am today. I can say for a fact that no other man took as many punches from the champ as I did as a result of the training and sparring sessions that we had over the years together. It is my hope that after reading my story and accounts of key events in my family's life, you will walk away with an even greater appreciation of the Clay/Ali family name, history and legacy. I encourage you to treasure each day and strive for your own personal greatness. Peace be upon you (As-salamu alaykum) Rahaman Ali a.k.a. Rudolph Arnett Clay
Download or read book The Making Of A Cosmic Citizen written by Michael A. Hanna and published by Majeston Hanna. This book was released on 2016-10-25 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book covers the first 30 years of my life and God willing, I will write about the rest of the years while the sun still shines. Now that I have written my history I can say that there is far more left out than what was written. And then, we tend to see the past through rose-colored glasses, and that is our way of rationalizing our existence. Memories are sketchy at best and we all see things from their moccasins. I hope that my recollections can enrich your own. My children will have a reference point for their history and they will add to it for greater continuity. Life will become the beginning for a life that never ends.

Download or read book No Time to Dream written by Rita Molyneux and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-10-17 with total page 561 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NO TIME TO DREAM is in many ways reminiscent of HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY. The background of both books largely centred on the mining valley of the Rhondda in Wales during the depression of the early twentieth century. The author Rita Molyneux herself lived in this mining valley and witnessed at fi rst hand the harshness of daily life during that period and vividly recounts them in her book. Indeed her own father suffered a broken back in a colliery accident. The Rhondda, as Gwyn Thomas once described it, poured out enough coal to have coked the world at one stroke. The valley was majestically ransacked and the coal owners became very rich men. Cruelly, little of this money stuck to the fi ngers of the people who mined the coal. Yet these people laughed, sang, worshipped and propagated at record levels and were far more precious than the coal they hauled out of the ground. In NO TIME TO DREAM the author richly evokes those times in technicolour and brings to life those characters who fi ll the pages. The story also tells of emigration of some of these characters to Australia, where they faced with bravery the vicissitudes of the new environment. In real life Rita and her husband Arthur paralleled the story of this novel, emigrating to Australia in 1964, initially to Canberra and then to Sydney. It was this experience that allowed Rita to complete the second half of her book. NO TIME TO DREAM is a rich evocation of the human spirit and a unique description of love, kindliness and courage surrounded and deepened by the dangers of the times. Read it!
Download or read book A Vagabond Life written by Michael Byron Smith and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-12-11 with total page 211 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Vagabond Life is a true story of a family lost. Told by Michael, the oldest son, it chronicles the challenges that arise from a lack of nurturing and a deep hunger for fatherly attention. His father is a man with demons, no paternal instinct, and no desire to improve. Michael, however, longs for the tender, intelligent father often exposed when demons allow it. His mother means well, but her youth and lack of education or marketable skills leaves her struggling to keep a roof over her family's heads. The births of six siblings over the course of nine years combine with ongoing evictions, neglect, and cyclical despair to form the backdrop for Michael's childhood and coming of age. With resilience, determination, and some glimmers of good fortune, Michael ultimately rises above his circumstances. Rich with both heartache and inspiration, A Vagabond Life digs deep to untangle the elements of his upbringing and make meaning of the factors impacting not only his life but those of his siblings and future generations.

Download or read book Just a Little Country Boy written by LeRoy T. Allen Sr. and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2006-08-08 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just A Little Country Boy is a story of the trials in the life of a young black boy born during the late Depression years in Arkansas. In 1940, when segregation was at its worst in the South, his father moved the family to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in search of a better life. An industrial revolution was taking place throughout the North at the time, offering better employment opportunities for the black man. Therefore the Black Migration began with black families leaving the servile attitudes of the South with the dreams of a better life. LeRoy Allen was blessed with good, hard-working parents who taught him to take pride in himself, to work hard, use good manners, and to respect all people. As a teenager, he took an interest in, and competed in almost all sports, but his big interest was boxing. He became Wisconsins State Golden Gloves champion for 3 different years. Later, he spent a few years as a professional boxer, meeting and sparring with many well-known boxers of that era. As a young adult, he became more aware of the prejudices and inequities surrounding the black man. Most of his adult years were spent moving from job to job, trying to improve his circumstances, while searching for decent employment to support his growing family. After experiencing nearly 50 different jobs, he succeeded in being hired into a position for which he was trained and well qualified. He was well into middle age before the job market began to hire women or blacks into responsible positions. Mr. Allen records many of the changes in the attitudes towards blacks in Milwaukee, and across the nation, as they occured during the last half of the 20th century. It is a story of faith, determination, and fortitude and a real insight into our nations awakening to the talents of our black citizens and our growing respect for their contributions to our society.
