Dans ce travail,nous avons étudié les propriétés optiques non linéaires(ONL) de deux familles de composés à savoir des molécules organiques à base de BODIPY et des complexes organométalliques à base de ruthénium (II)et de fer (II). Pour cette étude nous avons utilisé un laser pulsé en régime picoseconde qui délivre deux longueurs d'ondes : 1064 nm et 532 nm. Nous avons utilisé 1064nm pour les techniques de la génération de la seconde harmonique (SHG) et la génération de la troisième harmonique (THG) et 532 nm pour celle de Zscan.Les résultats obtenus sont intéressants et originaux et montrent bien que la réponse non linéaire dépend du nombre de groupements donneurs d'électrons pour les molécules organiques à base de BODIPY. Le même comportement a été observé dans le cas des complexes organométalliques à base de ruthénium (II) et de fer (II) mettant en évidence la modulation de la réponse optique non linéaire en fonction de la nature du métal de transition utilisé(Ru(II)ou Fe(II)) et de la nature des ligands auxiliaires autour du fragment organométallique (Ru(II)).

Book excerpt: Les polymères dopés avec des chromophores push-pull sont des systèmes particulièrement intéressants pour l'optique non linéaire (ONL). Toutefois, l'obtention de propriétés ONL quadratiques macroscopiques nécessite de briser la centrosymétrie du milieu par orientation des chromophores. Celle-ci doit ensuite être bloquée durablement pour assurer la pérennité des propriétés ONL quadratiques. Les systèmes que nous développons reposent sur approche originale fondée sur l'utilisation de résines photopolymérisables.L'orientation des chromophores est réalisée de manière conventionnelle par application d'un champ électrique statique. Le blocage de cette orientation est par contre obtenu selon une voie originale qui consiste à photopolymériser la matrice. En utilisant une figure d'illumination appropriée il est alors possible de sélectionner les régions polymérisées, ce qui permet un contrôle simple et rapide de la répartition spatiale des propriétés ONL quadratiques du matériau.Les formulations développées sont constituées d'un monomère acrylate trifonctionnel, d'un photoamorceur fonctionnant dans le visible et de chromophores transparents à la longueur d'onde actinique. La capacité de la résine photopolymérisable à ralentir la relaxation des chromophores a été caractérisée par génération de second harmonique (SHG). Une étude systématique de la composition du mélange photopolymérisable des conditions d'irradiation a été effectuée pour améliorer le blocage des chromophores. En utilisant une technique originale " d'auto-inscription ", nous avons également montré que l'augmentation d'indice de réfraction associée à la polymérisation peut être exploitée pour fabriquer des guides d'ondes permanents. Les résines photopolymérisables dopées permettent ainsi la maîtrise spatiale par voie optique de l'indice de réfraction et les propriétés ONL quadratiques, ce qui rend ces matériaux très attractifs pour l'optique intégrée.
