Find out in Book three of The Eternity Series. "The Twin Souls is a vivid and intense novel comprised of two stories set in two Native American tribes. It is full of suspense and drama and is about the difficult circumstances under which lovers meet and the challenges they face later on due to sadistic people who target the heroines. There is a deeply spiritual way in which Holly Newhouse depicts her heroines. They both are extremely self sacrificing, caring and also brave. Their male counterparts are protective archetypal heroes with soft hearts. The twists in the story are gripping and the situations are very believable, making this work potentially popular in the historical and cultural genres. The narrative emphasises the theme of twin souls, their instant recognition and desperate desire to be with each other against all odds. Newhouse paints romance effortlessly in such a way as to allow it to be realistic, passionate, bold and transcendental. There is a wonderful closeness and merging that is achieved, and readers interested in close romance will enjoy the special qualities conferred on the characters, such as being able to feel each other’s emotions and thoughts, and being able to transfer pain when needed. Newhouse also handles love from other relationships, such as brotherly, fatherly and motherly love, with sincerity, realism and compassion. The book is artistic and spiritual without compromising on suspense and passion. This is a wonderful combination and I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in a bold cultural romance which is not pretentious and yet contains important ideals regarding the spiritual concept of male and female twin souls." Download or read book Prophecy Fulfilled written by Gary Gallant and published by Christian Classics Reproductions. This book was released on 2023-09-03 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a daily devotional of the prophecies from the Old Testament fulfilled throughout history. The foretelling from these prophets is historically accurate. Most are fulfilled by Jesus Christ alone. Jesus talks about fulfilling the Law and the prophets. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said that He had not come to abolish the Law or the prophets but to fulfill them (Matthew 5:17). Scripture tells of prophets, their warnings, and their prophecies. Some spoke of good things to come, while others described desperate times. The fact that Jesus fulfilled the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings reminds us that the Word of God is true, steadfast, and eternal. God is active in every moment. Prophets foretold the birth of Jesus and how He would face trials, disappointment, the unbelief of the people, torture, and death on the cross. Scripture tells how Jesus would rise on the third day and ascend into Heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father. Through each word spoken and each action, Jesus showed what would happen. Jesus knew that the plan of His Father was the best. By reading and studying the Word of God, we learn that everything Jesus said would happen is true. Although not all prophecies have been fulfilled yet, Christians know that the day is coming when Jesus will return.

Book Fulfillment of Prophecy

Download or read book Fulfillment of Prophecy written by Gary Gallant and published by Christian Classics Reproductions. This book was released on 2023-08-30 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many believers neglect to study the Old Testament because they find it confusing or because they assume that it is less important to the Christian faith than the New Testament. We cannot understand Jesus or His gospel without a proper grounding in the Old Testament Scriptures. Thus, we need to read and study the whole counsel of God. Let us not neglect the study of either testament. Unique among all books ever written, the Bible accurately foretells specific events in detail many years, sometimes centuries, before they occur. Approximately 2,500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2,000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter—no errors. (The remaining 500 or so reach into the future and may be seen unfolding as days go by.) Since the probability of any one of these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance averages less than one in ten (figured very conservatively) and since the prophecies are for the most part independent of one another, the odds for all these prophecies having been fulfilled by chance without error is less than one in 102000 (that is 1 with 2,000 zeros written after it)! God is not the only one, however, who uses forecasts of future events to get people’s attention. Satan does, too. Through clairvoyants (such as Jeanne Dixon and Edgar Cayce), mediums, spiritists, and others come remarkable predictions, though rarely with more than about 60 percent accuracy, never with total accuracy. Messages from Satan, furthermore, fail to match the details of Bible prophecies, nor do they include a call to repentance. The acid test for identifying a prophet of God is recorded by Moses in Deuteronomy 18:21-22. According to this Bible passage (and others), God’s prophets, as distinct from Satan’s spokesmen, are 100 percent accurate in their predictions. There is no room for error. The New Testament indicates that what happened at the cross and on it was what the prophets had predicted would happen long before. Details of Jesus’ life and death were written in divine prophecy hundreds of years before He was born in Bethlehem. Throughout the Gospels, this amazing truth is emphasized. As Jesus and His apostles left the upper room for the Garden of Gethsemane, He said to them, “You will all fall away because it is written, ‘I will strike down the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered’” (Mark 14:27). After Judas’ betrayal, Jesus rebuked Peter for drawing his sword and cutting off the ear of Malchus and said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. . . How then will the Scriptures be fulfilled, which say that it must happen this way?” (Matthew 26:52–54). On the cross Jesus waited until He saw that “all things had already been accomplished” before He uttered His only physical request, “I am thirsty” (John 19:28). Later, the spear was thrust into Jesus’ side, and blood and water came out. We read, “For these things came to pass to fulfill the Scripture, ‘Not a bone of Him shall be broken.’ And again, another Scripture says, ‘They shall look on Him whom they pierced’” (John 19:36, 37). The angel who was at the tomb on the morning of the resurrection said, “. . . Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rises again” (Luke 24:6, 7). When Jesus met with the apostles and disciples Sunday evening, the same day He arose from the dead, He said to them, These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled. . . . Thus, it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem (Luke 24:44–47). In Jesus’ affirmation to those Sunday night witnesses, He referred to all three divisions of the Hebrew Old Testament—the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms —as He described the prophecies that had been fulfilled in Him. It has been said that if one reads any part of the Bible and does not see Jesus in it, he should go back and reread it, for he has missed something very important! In Peter’s first gospel sermon on the Day of Pentecost, he declared that Jesus had been delivered into the hands of godless men to be put to death “by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God” (Acts 2:23). In his second sermon in Acts, Peter covered in one sweeping sentence the prophecies of the whole Old Testament, saying that Jesus’ sufferings on the cross fulfilled all that had been prophesied: “But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled” (Acts 3:18).

Book Prophets Ancient and Modern Speak

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PROPHETS Ancient and Modern SPEAK is a reference document which provides a topical arrangement of the vast majority of outstanding scriptural quotes of principles, truths, key figures, and familiar stories from the following: 1. The Old and New Testaments, with particular comprehensive focus on the four Gospels, to also include minimal introductory context for clarification. 2. The Book of Mormon, itself a document translated from engraved writings of prophets in Ancient America on metallic plates, and in modern times delivered to and translated by the young prophet Joseph Smith, Jun. through divine means. 3. The Doctrine and Covenants, a compilation of one hundred and thirty–eight revelations given primarily to the prophet Joseph Smith, Jun. 4. The Pearl of Great Price, visions and acquired papyrus, having been revealed and translated by divine means through the prophet Joseph Smith, Jun. 5. Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, a book compiled by the later prophet Joseph Fielding Smith, including background and source information for each entry. (See End Notes) 6. Proclamations to the world, by Joseph Smith, Jr. and other contemporary prophets regarding preeminent doctrines. The organization of several thousand entries in PROPHETS Ancient and Modern SPEAK, all considered pure scripture, is a modest attempt to gather comprehensively and representatively from the above-stated books and documents, the plain and precious truths revealed anciently and in relatively current times. The entries are arranged alphabetically under nearly sixteen hundred topic or subject headings, with cross-referencing throughout, and with many being placed under multiple related headings, to facilitate ease of access. Meticulous documentation is provided throughout the entire document. In the years since its first publication in 1830, the Book of Mormon has been taken in translated versions to most countries throughout the world, not only matching its Biblical companion in a vast world distribution, but more importantly, in presenting the gospel and teachings of Jesus Christ in its fullness and purity. Indeed, The Book of Mormon provides throughout, another witness of Jesus Christ, as well as clear validation of the Bible—revealing much which has been taken out of the Bible over the centuries. The Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price have also been revealed, translated and distributed in a vast and similar extent throughout the world. Countless volumes have been written about the above-listed books ranging from a child’s animated versions to highly sophisticated, technical, archaeological and scientific studies of their early backgrounds and authenticity. Further, millions of followers testify of the truth and validity of Joseph Smith, Jr. as being the prophet through whom the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price have come into modern hands, declaring the Book of Mormon particularly as a book which will bring a person closer to God than any other book! PROPHETS Ancient and Modern SPEAK has been compiled and topically organized to help a reader readily find the ennobling truths taught by ancient and modern prophets alike. The topic entries, arranged alphabetically, draw from the above-mentioned sources, and are presented in relatively full context. PROPHETS Ancient and Modern SPEAK in no way proposes to replace the value of a person’s reading and enjoying the full text of the Old and New Testaments, The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants or Pearl of Great Price themselves. Therein are innumerable stories and text which present live and gripping images that touch people’s hearts, and are foundational in building a powerful conviction in millions regarding the truth of the teachings therein. What makes PROPHETS Ancient and Modern SPEAK so valuable in a person’s study of the scriptures is the immediate facility it offers in readily finding pertinent and sacred truths and references on a vast array of meaningful subjects found in the sources drawn from, whether for personal or presentational use. The well-known and late author W. Cleon Skousen well promoted the idea that “…the greater mind is not the one that remembers the most, but the one that can find it when he wants it.”

Book Helping Jesus Fulfill Prophecy

Download or read book Helping Jesus Fulfill Prophecy written by Robert J Miller and published by Lutterworth Press. This book was released on 2017-01-26 with total page 413 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's obvious that Jesus fulfilled prophecies about the promised Messiah - or so the gospels make it seem. But the real story is more complex, and more compelling. In hindsight we can see that Jesus had help fulfilling prophecy. The gospel writers skillfully manipulated prophecies - carefully lifting them out of context, creatively reinterpreting them, even rewriting them - to match what Jesus would do in fulfilling them. The evangelists also used the prophecies themselves to shape the very stories that show their fulfillment. This book describes in detail how Christian authors helped Jesus fulfill prophecy. Studies of Greek oracles, the Dead Sea Scrolls, translations of the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek and Aramaic, and the writings of Josephus explore the interpretive techniques that paved the way for the New Testament's manipulation of prophecy. This book analyzes how the belief that Jesus fulfilled prophecy became an argument to justify a new notion: the view that Christians had replaced Jews as God's chosen people. An aggressive anti-Judaism is analyzed in chapters on patristic theologians such as Justin Martyr and Augustine, who embedded it into the argument from prophecy. The book concludes with an ethical argument for whyChristians should retire the argument from prophecy.

Book Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy

Download or read book Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy written by J. Barton Payne and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2020-09-30 with total page 782 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After twenty years of research, Dr. J. Barton Payne has compiled the one complete guide to Biblical prophecy. From the prediction of Adam's death in Genesis 2: 17 to the prophecy of mankind's perpetual worship of God in the new heaven and earth (Psalm 72:5), the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY discusses every verse of prophetic matter in Scripture. It identifies every probable point of fulfillment whether in the past, present, or still in the future. The first 144 pages of the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY set forth a systematic approach to the subject of Biblical prophecy and the legitimate place for prediction in it. The ENCYCLOPEDIA is arranged according to the 66 books of the Bible. In each book, all the verses on one prophetic theme are treated in one combined discussion. For example: The 12 verses of Genesis that foretell God's granting of the land of Canaan to the descendants of Abraham are discussed together. It is then shown how the promise was fulfilled in the days of Joshua. One of the ENCYCLOPEDIA'S concluding summaries lists all the 737 major subjects that appear in Biblical prediction, with the books and paragraphs in which each is found. This way, each prophecy can be traced from its first appearance in the Bible to its last. Among the many features is a complete list of all the Scriptural prophecies pertaining to Christ. No other book has ever examined Biblical prophecy so thoroughly or presented it in such a balanced perspective as the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY. •1,817 entries covering all the Biblical predictions in both the Old and New Testaments •A complete discussion of all 8,352 predictive verses in the Bible •14 tables, including three on the Book of Revelation •Bibliography •4 summaries •4 statistical appendixes •5 complete indexes An indispensable tool for students of the Bible, for students in theological seminaries and Bible colleges, for pastors as a reference guide, and for concerned lay people. The ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIBLICAL PROPHECY is certain to bring a fresh understanding and rewarding insights of the bible.

Book The Minor Prophets as Christian Scripture in the Commentaries of Theodore of Mopsuestia and Cyril of Alexandria

Download or read book The Minor Prophets as Christian Scripture in the Commentaries of Theodore of Mopsuestia and Cyril of Alexandria written by Hauna Ondrey and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work compares the Minor Prophets commentaries of Theodore of Mopsuestia and Cyril of Alexandria, isolating the role each interpreter assigns the Twelve Prophets in their ministry to Old Testament Israel and the texts of the Twelve as Christian scripture. Hauna T. Ondrey argues that Theodore does acknowledge christological prophecies, as distinct from both retrospective accommodation and typology. A careful reading of Cyril's Commentary on the Twelve limits the prospective christological revelation he ascribes to the prophets and reveals the positive role he grants the Mosaic law prior to Christ's advent. Exploring secondly the Christian significance Theodore and Cyril assign to Israel's exile and restoration reveals that Theodore's reading of the Twelve Prophets, while not attempting to be christocentric, is nevertheless self-consciously Christian. Cyril, unsurprisingly, offers a robust Christian reading of the Twelve, yet this too must be expanded by his focus on the church and concern to equip the church through the ethical paideusis provided by the plain sense of the prophetic text. Revised descriptions of each interpreter lead to the claim that a recent tendency to distinguish the Old Testament interpretation of Theodore (negatively) and Cyril (positively) on the basis of their "christocentrism" obscures more than it clarifies and polarizes no less than earlier accounts of Antiochene/Alexandrian exegesis. The conclusion argues against replacing old dichotomies with new and advocates rather for an approach that takes seriously Theodore's positive account of the unity and telos of the divine economy and the full range of Cyril's interpretation.
