Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A historian dissects the prophecies of a Nostradamus-like seer who suggests the end of the papal throne—and the beginning of a new era in the Roman Catholic Church Nearly a thousand years ago, the Archbishop of Armagh—later canonized as St. Malachy—made a series of prophecies that were hidden in the Vatican for four hundred years. His predictions gave clues to the identities of the 109 Popes from medieval times to present day, including the final Pope who would oversee the end of the Papacy and the fall of the Roman Catholic Church. The Last Pope examines the sudden ‘rediscovery’ of these prophecies in the sixteenth century, how they may have been used as propaganda in the campaign to promote Pope Gregory XIV to the papal throne, and how the 2013 papal election may have been our last. Robert Howells has spent the last twenty years researching and writing about religious and historical mysteries. By drawing on his extensive knowledge of both the political and spiritual history of the Catholic Church, he places Pope Francis in the context of what will potential be the most challenging era for the papacy. The Last Pope seeks to answer questions surrounding the future of the Catholic church, offering an investigating that will fascinate readers who are fascinated by the unresolved mysteries in the history of Christianity.

Book The Prophecy of Saint Malachy

Book excerpt: The events of 1978 saw the death of Pope Paul VI, the election and unexpected death of John Paul I, and finally the election of John Paul II. Three Popes in one year propelled the world like a run away train toward the conclusion of a prophecy given by St. Malachy in 1139. The prophecy lists 112 Popes. The last Pope would take the seat of Saint Peter and the world would fall into anarchy. John Paul II was the 110th Pope. The Pope ruling the Holy See today is Benedict XVI, the 111th Pope, and according to the prophecy, the last Pope to rule an intact church and functioning world. The next Pope will not be the Vicar of Christ. He will be the enemy of the church, usurper of the throne and he will be called "Peter of Rome."

Book excerpt: Many believe that Pope Benedict XVI was number 111 of the 112 popes prophesied by the Catholic saint and Bishop Malachy. Some have said that there would only be 112, and since Pope Francis I is after Pope Benedict XVI, this could make him 112-Peter the Roman-the last pope-the pope who Bishop Malachy said would oversee the destruction of Rome--and this is consistent with biblical prophecy. Catholic prophecies also tell of an antipope who will betray that faith. Could this really be Pope Francis I? Is Pope Francis I possibly the Antichrist? What will happen in the future if he or a successor is?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: St. Malachy was a 12th century prophet who provided prophetic mottoes for each pope from Celestine II in the 12th century until the final pope, Petrus Romanus, or Peter the Roman, who, according to the prophecy, would sit on the seat of St. Peter during the day of Judgment. St. Malachy provided mottoes for 112 popes, which, some believe, match up with every pope up until Pope Benedict XVI and even Pope Francis, who would, according to the prophecy, currently be sitting on the throne of St. Peter as the final pope or as Peter the Roman in the Day of Judgment. This edition contains the prophecies in English and in the original Latin and, for all of the popes before 1590, a biographical note. A brief explanation of each motto and an illustration of the coat of arms are included for all of the popes, except for those who are left undiscovered.

O'Brien and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-06 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from An Historical and Critical Account of the So-Called Prophecy of St. Malachy Regarding the Succession of Popes The knowledge of the future belongs properly to God. This knowledge pertains not to the nature either of an angel or man; and if angels and men do foretell future events, they do so as mere agents or instruments according to the revelation they te ceive for the time being. As to what extent the angels of darkness can foretell, it is not easy to de cide. Certain it is they have no knowledge of the contingent future; that is to say, of the future pro perly so called, except what God for his own wise ends may give them. They are false prophets, how ever, as far as we are concerned, for we can never place confidence in them. They can at any rateknow things which are beyond our knowledge. This arises from their nature as Spirits, as well as from their knowledge of causes which are now present, though hidden from us. Thus, for instance, it would be no prophecy for the evil Spltlt to inform me that I was to receive a letter from a far-away friend some weeks or months hence. The Spirit of darkness could have seen the friend write the letter, and in a twinkle have winged his flight here to inform me of the fact. The demon may be also pretty successful in guessing the future. Fancy his natural cleverness and long experience. A knowledge of the future in man is usually a sign of great sanctity, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (apoc. Xix. Xc). But the Spirit of prophecy is not always a sign of sanctity, as for instance in the case of Balaam (numb. Sooth sayers and fortune-tellers may, perhaps, have been helped by the evil one in their predictions, and may have told things beyond the ordinary ken of mor tal; still it must not be forgotten that the devil is the father of lies, and the predictions of sooth sayers, even though inspired by him, cannot be trustworthy. Book The Prophecy of Saint Malachy

Download or read book The Prophecy of Saint Malachy written by Bartholomew Okonkwo and published by . This book was released on 2013-02-23 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation, those familiar with a 12th-century prophecy claiming the next pope will be the last questioned if Judgment Day is quickly approaching. Scholars, theologians and churchmen, however, all treat this "prediction" as fiction passed off as reality. The prophecy, taken from St. Malachy's "Prophecy of the Popes," is a list of 112 short phrases in Latin. They purport to describe each of the Roman Catholic popes (along with a few anti-popes), beginning with Pope Celestine II (elected in 1143) and concluding with a later added pope described in the prophecy as "Peter the Roman", whose pontificate will end in the destruction of the city of Rome. Doomsday fans have found ways to link each phrase to a corresponding pope through the centuries. That includes John Paul II, who is associated with phrase No. 110, "From the labor of the sun," because he was born on the day of a solar eclipse and was entombed on the day of a solar eclipse as well. Benedict XVI, No. 111, is supposedly "glory of the olive" because some members of a branch of the monastic order founded by St. Benedict are known as Olivetans. This book Gives a detailed historical and critical account of the so-called Prophecy of St. Malachy, regarding the succession of the popes. This is especially relevant now that Pope Benedict the XVI is stepping sown; who is the last numbered entry on the list. Whatever one may think of the genuineness of the prophecies attributed to Saint Malachy, here is a fascinating study which provides the curious reader with much profit and pleasure.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Watch the Highlights Video of the June 24 live panel discussion from Rome.??????? When Pope Francis' pontificate has passed, it's very likely that one of the nineteen cardinals featured in these pages will be elected to become the next Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, the spiritual leader of over a billion Catholics and the most influential and widely respected moral and religious figure in the world. Yet outside the Vatican walls, despite the considerable roles that some of these men play in the Church and in the world, few of them are known by the public — or even by their brother cardinals. Hence this book, an engrossing and thoroughly documented instrument through which a future pope may be known
