Book Properties of Strip Transmission Line Volume 1

Download or read book Properties of Strip Transmission Line Volume 1 written by and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stripline components for high speed logic are compared to their equivalent waveguide components with respect to size and cost. Impedance measurements in Stripline at microwave frequencies require the use of a slotted line. Since commercial coaxial slotted lines are readily available and a Stripline laboratory model would be expensive and time consuming to produce, it was decided that the coaxial slotted line with its attendant transition was the best approach. It is in this transition that the problem arises. The junction introduces a discontinuity which must be taken into account. By making the rather good approximation that the junction is lossless, a bilinear transformation may be used to relate the two sides of the junction. A theoretical derivation is made and an example worked to illustrate the practical aspects of the solution. It was found that, while this method cannot be used to find the characteristic impedance of Stripline, if the characteristic impedance is known, the impedance of any unknown Stripline load can be found. Experimental verification of Stripline attenuation is shown using a Stripline Spiral. Good correlation is obtained between measured and theoretical values of attenuation up to 3.5 Kmc. A transfer function for Stripline is found using standard transmission line formulation. This transfer function is broken into two parts, dielectric response and skin effect response. A set of curves is given for dielectric response.

Book Microwave and RF Design

Download or read book Microwave and RF Design written by Michael Steer and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microwave and RF Design: Networks presents the tools and techniques required to analyze and design microwave and RF circuits. Because of the finite speed of light, microwave circuits must be considered to be spatially distributed and so there is not a single ground. As such metrics that can be used to describe power flow are of most use. The topics covered include scattering parameters, signal flow graphs, and Smith charts. Acquiring expertise in these is the biggest barriers to a successful career in microwave and RF engineering. This book is suitable as both an undergraduate and graduate textbook, as well as a career-long reference book.

Book Networks and Devices Using Planar Transmissions Lines

Download or read book Networks and Devices Using Planar Transmissions Lines written by Franco Di Paolo and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 680 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A single text that incorporates all of the theoretical principles and practical aspects of planar transmission line devices - since the early development of striplines, it has been sought by countless microwave engineers, researchers, and students. With the publication of Networks and Devices Using Planar Transmission Lines, the search for that one authoritative resource is over. This is more than just a handbook, much more than a theoretical treatment. It's the ideal integration of the theory and applications of planar transmission lines and devices. Striplines, microstrips, slot lines, coplanar waveguides and strips, phase shifters, hybrids, and more - the author examines them all. For each type of structure, his treatment is complete and self-contained, including: Geometric characteristics Electric and magnetic field lines Solution techniques for the electromagnetic problem Quasi-static, coupled modes, and full wave analysis methods Design equations Attenuation Practical considerations Of particular interest is the author's comprehensive treatment of planar ferrimagnetic devices, such as phase shifters, isolators, and circulators, and three appendices dedicated to the theoretical aspects of ferrimagetism. Five other appendices provide thorough reviews of various theoretical concepts implicit in the body of the work, such as wave theory, the external properties of networks, and resonant circuits.

Book Fields Waves and Transmission Lines

Download or read book Fields Waves and Transmission Lines written by M. Benson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of us (FAB) published a book Problems in Electronics with Solutions in 1957 which became well established and ran to five editions, the last revised and enlarged edition appearing in 1976. When the first edition was written it covered almost the complete undergraduate electronics courses in engin eering at universities. One book, at a price students can afford, can no longer cover an undergraduate course in electronics. It has therefore been decided to produce a book covering one important section of such a course using the experience gained and a few problems from previous editions of Problems in Electronics with Solutions. The book is based largely on problems collected by us over many years and given to undergraduate electronic and electrical engineers. Its purpose is to present the problems, together with a large number of their solutions, in the hope that it will prove valuable to undergraduates and other teachers. It should also be useful for Master's degree students in electronic and electrical engineering and physics, research workers, engineers and scientists in industry and as a reference source.

Book Circuit Properties of Dispersive Coupled Transmission Lines and Waveguides

Download or read book Circuit Properties of Dispersive Coupled Transmission Lines and Waveguides written by David F. Noble and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 670 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The frequency domain behavior of lossless, uniform, dispersive coupled transmission line systems and of lossless waveguides uniform in the direction of propagation but not necessarily in the transverse direction are investigated. Some frequency domain properties of the propagation constants of such systems implied by losslessness and uniformity are explored, and ways of approximating waveguide propagation constants are developed. Book A Study of the Transmission Line Properties of Trapped Inverted Microstrip Line

Download or read book A Study of the Transmission Line Properties of Trapped Inverted Microstrip Line written by Charles Buntschuh and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 87 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Trapped Inverted Microstrip, or TIM, line is a novel transmission line invented for the purpose of reducing the radiation from discontinuities and obtaining reduced line loss compared to conventional microstrip. TIM line also possesses several other useful features and is potentially an attractive transmission line medium for the microwave integrated circuit (MIC) technology. The objective of the study was to determine TIM line's basic transmission line properties and to provide basic design data. The scope included the line impedance and effective dielectric constant as functions of the geometrical parameters, and the characterization of simple discontinuities such as stub junctions, series gaps, impedance steps and mitre bends. It also included the design of a well-matched broad band transition from coaxial line to TIM line. The data generated was also applied to the design of a 3dB branch line hybrid coupler.
