As a result of this, the various rays follow various paths in space and do not arrive simultaneously at the receiver; this condition leads to a distortion in the shape of the signal which is being received. At this time, one can observe on the screen of the oscillograph, or of any other recording device, the time-dependent scanning of the dispersed signal. Such a scanning contains information concerning the properties of various sectors in the medium. In this manner, a study of the nonstationary scattering opens new possibilities in the investigation of heterogeneous media. This report discusses the effect of the experiment's geometry (in particular the values of the base between the transmitter and receiver of their mutual angular orientation and the aperture angular of the receiver upon the temporal prolongation of the light (luminous) signals). The studies were conducted in one of the lakes in Byelorussia. (Author).
