This book was released on 2006-12-01 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Separation of Isotopes of Biogenic Elements provides a detailed overview of this area of research covering all aspects from the value of isotope effects to their practical use (equilibrium single-stage isotope effect - kinetics and mass transfer – multiplication of the single-stage isotope separation factor - technological peculiarity of processes) with the purpose of extraction from the natural mixture of the enriched and highly concentrated isotopes. In contrast to traditional books on the theory of isotope separation, the theoretical part of the book describes separation in two-phase processes in counter-flow columns. The experimental part of the book presents systematic analysis of specialists in the field of isotope separation in counter-flow columns. This book will be of interest to scientists, engineers and technical workers engaged in isotope separation processes and isotope application in nuclear physics, medicine, agro-chemistry, biology and other areas. This book may also be used in teaching theory and practical aspects in courses on physical chemistry and Isotope separation of light elements by physicochemical methods.* summarises current state of isotope research, especially biogenic elements* covering all aspects from the value of isotope effects to their practical use* of interest to scientists, engineers and technical workers engaged in isotope separation processes and isotope application

Book Resource Recovery in Industrial Waste Waters

Download or read book Resource Recovery in Industrial Waste Waters written by Ali Khadir and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2023-07-20 with total page 809 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Resource Recovery in Industrial Waste Waters provides a holistic approach for discovering and harnessing valuable resources from industrial wastewaters, the cutting-edge technologies required, and a discussion on the new findings. In three volumes, the books stress the importance of contaminated waters' remediation, including surface waters, municipal or industrial wastewaters and treating these waters as a new source of nutrients, minerals and energy. It introduces polluted waters as new and sustainable sources, rather than seeing wastewaters as only a source of hazardous organic and inorganic matters. Sections discuss wastewater treatment and recovery and contribute to generate a sustainable approach of wastewater by providing the main advantages and disadvantages of both wastewater/polluted water treatment and recovery. - Reviews the current status of industrial wastewater treatment methods - Discusses the growing need of resource recovery from industrial wastewater, along with the challenges - Describes the importance of water reuse for combating water scarcity by describing current techniques and challenges - Evaluates the potential of the current market and status towards industrial wastewater resource recovery - Considers cutting-edge technologies for resource recovery - Contains comprehensive discussions on possibility of almost all recoverable resources from industrial wastewater

Book Perovskite Materials Devices and Integration

Download or read book Perovskite Materials Devices and Integration written by He Tian and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2020-06-10 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perovskites have attracted great attention in the fields of energy storage, pollutant degradation as well as optoelectronic devices due to their excellent properties. This kind of material can be divided into two categories; inorganic perovskite represented by perovskite oxide and organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite, which have described the recent advancement separately in terms of catalysis and photoelectron applications. This book systematically illustrates the crystal structures, physic-chemical properties, fabrication process, and perovskite-related devices. In a word, perovskite has broad application prospects. However, the current challenges cannot be ignored, such as toxicity and stability.

Book Green Chemistry for the Development of Eco Friendly Products

Download or read book Green Chemistry for the Development of Eco Friendly Products written by Chahal, Kavita Shakya and published by IGI Global. Book Advances in Cryogenic Engineering

Download or read book Advances in Cryogenic Engineering written by Quan-Sheng Shu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2013-12-19 with total page 967 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, the technology of cryogenic comminution has been widely applied in the field of chemical engineering, food making, medicine production, and particularly in recycling of waste materials. Because of the increasing pollution of waste tires and the shortage of raw rubber resource, the recycling process for waste rubber products has become important and commercially viable. This technology has shown a great number of advantages such as causing no environmental pollution, requiring low energy consumption and producing high quality products. Hence, the normal crusher which was used to reclaim materials, such as waste tires, nylon, plastic and many polymer materials at atmospheric 12 temperature is being replaced by a cryogenic crusher. • In the cryogenic crusher, the property of the milled material is usually very sensitive to temperature change. When a crusher is in operation, it will generate a great deal of heat that causes the material temperature increased. Once the temperature increases over the vitrification temperature, the material property will change and lose the brittle behavior causing the energy consumption to rise sharply. Consequently, the comminution process cannot be continued. Therefore, it is believed that the cryogenic crusher is the most critical component in the cryogenic comminution system. The research on the temperature increase and energy consumption in the cryogenic crusher is not only to reduce the energy consumption of the crasher, but also to reduce the energy consumption of the cryogenic system.
