Book excerpt: Knowledge of the "health" status of lake ecosystems is crucial for the conservation of the ecological integrity of national parks. This reports presents the first management model of the natural resources of the La Mauricie National Park (LMNP), which provides environmental monitoring tools for aquatic ecosystems. The monitoring programs were organized around three environmental components: biophysical (water physico-chemistry, plankton communities), halieutic (fish communities) and human (recreational activities). The final management plan presents first the environmental monitoring strategies for the biophysical and halieutic components, and second the strategies for the anthropic component. A complementary document to this work entitled ±Annexe au rapport de recherche[??] presents different appendices, sampling protocols and laboratory analysis that could be very useful to the LMNP management team.
