Après avoir effectué un état de l'art concernant l'innovation en milieu industriel, notre positionnement en recherche-action avec un grand groupe automobile nous a permis de mettre en avant la problématique d'optimisation de l'activité de créativité dans le processus de conception comme étant une source majeure de gain en innovation dans le milieu automobile. Ces travaux de recherche ont donc pour objet de formaliser l'organisation et le management de l'activité de recherche de solutions créatives et innovantes en conception de produits industriels. L'objectif final étant d'optimiser l'innovation en conception de produits en améliorant l'efficacité et l'adéquation du travail entre les équipes projets et les services créativité-innovation. Nous avons donc mis en avant la problématique d'intégration de l'activité de créativité dans le processus de conception comme étant une source majeure de gain en innovation dans le milieu automobile. Nos hypothèses et nos travaux expérimentaux nous ont alors permis d'élaborer un Processus de Créativité Industrielle et son outil de pilotage qui intègre la complexité des métiers et de l'innovation.
