Book Productivity Gain Sharing Plus

Download or read book Productivity Gain Sharing Plus written by Paul Carey and published by Paul Carey. This book was released on 2023-06-14 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is for consultants, internal and external, plus senior executives, interested in designing and implementing gain sharing plans that work. Well-designed gain sharing, developed through participative means, is a glue that binds and integrates teams into a single cohesive whole. This book lays out the challenges of using the framework of gain sharing and its mechanisms for unleashing the productive and creative power of a big team in an organisation (the organisation can still be a small one), where the big team is the sum of all parts of the organisation, or even the organisation extended to its suppliers and customers. It's often difficult to bring all the teams, departments, and units together to work as a cohesive whole. How to go about tackling this challenge? And how to enhance the original philosophy of gain sharing? This methodology can make an accomplished addition to your kit of tools.

Book Institutions and Development After the Financial Crisis

Download or read book Institutions and Development After the Financial Crisis written by Sebastiano Fadda and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-10-30 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The financial crash of 2007-2008 and the subsequent global economic crisis have raised questions about the viability of capitalism and the desirability of alternative types of economic system. In this context, Keynesian and Marxist ideas in particular have become more popular. These two approaches, along with some other heterodox perspectives, agree on the need for institutional analysis and for better institutions and governance in order to promote economic development. This volume poses fundamental institutional, evolutionary and ontological questions relating to the emergence of a new mode of governance after the financial crisis. The book argues that, contrary to the recent austerity policies implemented in the EU in particular, a new level of government involvement is required in order to keep aggregate demand stable, make full employment possible, and create a transparent financial sector, serving the real economy and encouraging productive investments. This book will be of interest to students, researchers and policy makers working in the areas of finance, institutional economics, development economics and international political economy.

Download or read book Fair Shares written by Peter A. Swenson and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2018-05-31 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Conflict between labor and capital reflects the competitive and conflict-laden relations within the working class itself, Peter Swenson maintains. Fair Shares examines the internal conflicts of organized labor regarding distribution of wages in order to explain both union leaders' market-structuring objectives in the "political economy", and their imperative to shape and fulfill workers' notions of pay fairness in the "moral economy". Swenson develops an innovative theoretical approach to labor politics through a detailed comparative analysis of union centralization and collective bargaining in Sweden and Germany since the turn of the century. To create solidarity and overcome workers' opposition to centralized control of the labor movement, Swenson argues, union leaders depend heavily on moral appeals concerning fair pair distribution and on success in fulfilling workers' expectation of fairness. Swenson interprets union politics as the attempt to overcome what he calls the "wage policy trilemma"
