However, these cooper ative mills exert influence in various ways upon the industry much greater than their volume indicates. Table 2 shows volume of seed crushed by cooperative mills for the 7 - year period, 1947-48 to 1953-54. Tonnage crushed by individual mills ranges from around tons to more than tons.
