Indeed, the opportunity provided by the many concurrent missions Ulysses, Yohkoh, SOHO, TRACE, SPARTAN, WIND, and ACE, which probe the Sun and interplanetary space from different vantage points, provided very rich material for the contributions. The presentations included invited reviews and contributed talks as well as poster presentations. This conference took place almost 40 years after Parkers prediction of the existence of the solar wind.
