This book was released on 2007-08-31 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Noncommutative geometry is a novel approach which is opening up new possibilities for geometry from a mathematical viewpoint. It is also providing new tools for the investigation of quantum space-time in physics. Recent developments in string theory have supported the idea of quantum spaces, and have strongly stimulated the research in this field. This self-contained volume contains survey lectures and research articles which address these issues and related topics. The book is accessible to both researchers and graduate students beginning to study this subject.

Book Fields And Geometry 1986 Proceedings Of The 22nd Winter School And Workshop Of Theoretical Physics

Download or read book Fields And Geometry 1986 Proceedings Of The 22nd Winter School And Workshop Of Theoretical Physics written by Arkadiusz Jadczyk and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1987-01-01 with total page 688 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The continuation of global poverty is inextricably entwined with the fundamental philosophy of the market economy. It is driven by the individual's neverending desire for “profit”, leading to a critically imbalanced distribution of resources. As an entrepreneurial initiative, this book advocates a shift in the responsibility for relief of poverty away from the government to the private sector, and in particular to corporate entities. The concept of the “residual” is used as the cornerstone of business operations and wealth distribution. Corporate decision-makers, while making proprietary decisions for resources allocation, must assume stewardship responsibility and be accountable not just to financial investors but to all contributors of the corporate entity.

Book Contemporary Problems In Mathematical Physics Proceedings Of The Second International Workshop

Download or read book Contemporary Problems In Mathematical Physics Proceedings Of The Second International Workshop written by Jan Govaerts and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2002-10-18 with total page 503 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The following topics are discussed in this volume: recent developments in operator theory, coherent states and wavelet analysis, geometric and topological methods in theoretical physics and quantum field theory, and applications of these methods of mathematical physics to problems in atomic and molecular physics as well as the world of the elementary particles and their fundamental interactions. Two extensive sets of lecture notes on quantization techniques in general, and quantum gauge theories and strings as an avenue towards quantum geometry, are also included. The volume should be of interest to anyone working in a field using the mathematical methods associated with any of these topics.

Book Lie Theory And Its Applications In Physics Proceedings Of An International Workshop

Download or read book Lie Theory And Its Applications In Physics Proceedings Of An International Workshop written by Vladimir K Dobrev and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996-10-16 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is an apparent trend towards geometrization of physical theories. During the last 20 years, the most successful mathematical models for the description and understanding of physical systems have been based on the Lie theory in its widest sense and various generalizations, for example, deformations of it.This proceedings volume reflects part of the development. On the mathematical side, they report on representations of Lie algebras, quantization procedures, non-commutative geometry, quantum groups, etc. Furthermore, possible physical applications of these techniques are discussed (e.g. quantization of classical systems, derivations of evolution equations, discrete and deformed physical systems). This volume complements the book Generalized Symmetries in Physics, published by World Scientific in 1994.

Book Quantum Theory and Symmetries with Lie Theory and Its Applications in Physics Volume 1

Download or read book Quantum Theory and Symmetries with Lie Theory and Its Applications in Physics Volume 1 written by Vladimir Dobrev and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-11-28 with total page 419 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the first volume of proceedings from the joint conference X International Symposium “Quantum Theory and Symmetries” (QTS-X) and XII International Workshop “Lie Theory and Its Applications in Physics” (LT-XII), held on 19–25 June 2017 in Varna, Bulgaria. The QTS series was founded on the core principle that symmetries underlie all descriptions of quantum systems. It has since evolved into a symposium at the forefront of theoretical and mathematical physics. The LT series covers the whole field of Lie theory in its widest sense, together with its applications in many areas of physics. As an interface between mathematics and physics, the workshop serves as a meeting place for mathematicians and theoretical and mathematical physicists. In dividing the material between the two volumes, the Editor has sought to select papers that are more oriented toward mathematics for the first volume, and those focusing more on physics for the second. However, this division is relative, since many papers are equally suitable for either volume. The topics addressed in this volume represent the latest trends in the fields covered by the joint conferences: representation theory, integrability, entanglement, quantum groups, number theory, conformal geometry, quantum affine superalgebras, noncommutative geometry. Further, they present various mathematical results: on minuscule modules, symmetry breaking operators, Kashiwara crystals, meta-conformal invariance, the superintegrable Zernike system.

Book Noncommutative Differential Geometry and Its Applications to Physics

Download or read book Noncommutative Differential Geometry and Its Applications to Physics written by Yoshiaki Maeda and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Noncommutative differential geometry is a new approach to classical geometry. It was originally used by Fields Medalist A. Connes in the theory of foliations, where it led to striking extensions of Atiyah-Singer index theory. It also may be applicable to hitherto unsolved geometric phenomena and physical experiments. However, noncommutative differential geometry was not well understood even among mathematicians. Therefore, an international symposium on commutative differential geometry and its applications to physics was held in Japan, in July 1999. Topics covered included: deformation problems, Poisson groupoids, operad theory, quantization problems, and D-branes. The meeting was attended by both mathematicians and physicists, which resulted in interesting discussions. This volume contains the refereed proceedings of this symposium. Providing a state of the art overview of research in these topics, this book is suitable as a source book for a seminar in noncommutative geometry and physics.
