Book Radiative Corrections Radcor 98 Application Of Quantum Field Theory To Phenomenology Proceedings Of 4th

Download or read book Radiative Corrections Radcor 98 Application Of Quantum Field Theory To Phenomenology Proceedings Of 4th written by Joan Sola and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1999-09-17 with total page 606 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the contributions of 47 leading researchers in high energy physics, both theorists and experimentalists, from all over the world. It discusses the application of quantum field theory to phenomenology in all areas of active research in particle physics. The topics covered include: (i) the status of precision measurements at LEP, SLC, HERA, Tevatron, and other experiments; (ii) quantum-field-theoretical techniques for calculating electroweak and QCD radiative corrections; and (iii) radiative corrections and precision experiments in future colliders (Tevatron II, LHC, NLC, Muon Collider, etc.). The confrontation in a single volume of all the high precision results reported by experimentalists, on one side, with the predictions of the Standard Model (SM) at the level of radiative corrections, on the otherside, provides a detailed test of the SM at the quantum level. And, where discrepancies appear, it gives hints of physics beyond the SM (such as supersymmetry, effective quantum field theories, etc.) which are thoroughly discussed in the book.

Book QCD Perspectives on Hot and Dense Matter

Download or read book QCD Perspectives on Hot and Dense Matter written by Jean-Paul Blaizot and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 526 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many facets of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) are relevant to the in-depth discussion of theoretical and experimental aspects of high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions. Exciting phenomena are being discovered in such ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions, notably the increasingly important role of deconfined quark-gluon matter created in the early stage. The book contains lectures on the physics of hot dense matter, the expected phase transitions and colour superconductivity, recent developments in the treatment of nonlinear effects at large parton densities, fundamental issues in the phenomenology of ultrarelativistic heavy collisions. The latest data on heavy ion collisions are also presented. A unique collection of lectures on the many facets of QCD relevant to the physics of hot dense matter.

Book Nonperturbative Methods In Quantum Field Theory Proceedings Of The Workshop

Download or read book Nonperturbative Methods In Quantum Field Theory Proceedings Of The Workshop written by Andreas W Schreiber and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1999-01-15 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the proceedings of the Workshop on Nonperturbative Methods in Quantum Field Theory, held in Adelaide, Australia, in February 1998. Lattice gauge theory and calculations based on the use of Schwinger-Dyson equations feature prominently, with further contributions in the areas of variational and functional techniques, strong interaction phenomenology and chiral perturbation theory. QCD in the infrared regime as well as QCD at finite temperatures and densities is the subject matter of a number of papers, while other authors explore chiral symmetry breaking in QCD as well as in other field theories.

Book Universality Features In Multihadron Production And The Leading Effect Proceedings Of The 33rd Workshop

Download or read book Universality Features In Multihadron Production And The Leading Effect Proceedings Of The 33rd Workshop written by Luisa Cifarelli and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1998-03-10 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Eloisatron Project aims at the study of physics phenomena in hadron-hadron colliders at the limits of maximum energy and luminosity. QCD processes involving multiparticle final states have shown 'universality features' in different production reactions once the 'leading effects' are correctly accounted for. The study of these phenomena has three components: (i) at now-available energies; (ii) at future energies in the years to come; (iii) at extreme energies. The link between these components can be achieved by QCD and its developments. This volume reviews the recent status of QCD and discusses novel aspects of perturbative and non-perturbative approaches to different kinds of interactions. It contains various contributions on multihadron production (theory and phenomenology), perturbative QCD and pomeron physics. Also, the latest experimental results on pp, ep and e⁺e⁻ interactions are presented.
