Book excerpt: The Light-Cone 2016 conference, held in September 2016 in Lisbon, Portugal, belongs to a series of yearly Light-Cone meetings that started in 1991. As its predecessors, this conference was guided by the objectives defined by the International Light Cone Advisory Committee, namely to “advance research in quantum field theory, particularly light-cone quantization methods applicable to the solution of physical problems”. This volume compiles selected papers presented at the conference by experts from all over the world, which describe recent progress in theoretical research, and new results and planned activities at leading experimental facilities, with special emphasis on the physics of hadrons and nuclei.

Book International Workshop on Hadron Physics 2000

Download or read book International Workshop on Hadron Physics 2000 written by Fernando Silveira Navarra and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2001 with total page 516 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a recent survey of the advances in hadron physics. The main topics are nonperturbative high energy processes in QCD, deep inelastic scattering and perturbative QCD, RHIC and quark-gluon plasma physics and effective theories for low energy QCD.The book contains four series of lectures written in a pedagogical style and a number of short papers on the main subject. They will benefit researchers who want to be familiar with the frontiers of hadron physics and its connection with the large experimental programs under development in laboratories such as the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the Thomas Jefferson National Laboratory.

Book Theory Of Hadrons And Light Front Qcd Proceedings Of The Fourth International Workshop On Light front Quantization And Non perturbative Dynamics

Download or read book Theory Of Hadrons And Light Front Qcd Proceedings Of The Fourth International Workshop On Light front Quantization And Non perturbative Dynamics written by S D Glazek and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1995-04-26 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume includes 45 talks and reports from facilitated discussions by outstanding contributors to the theory of hadrons that cover the entire spectrum of computational strategies being developed to solve QCD.A new computational strategy for solving light-front QCD, a strategy which starts with a constituent quark model that can be solved using the weak-coupling methods of QED, is extensively reviewed.

Book Introduction to the Standard Model and Beyond

Download or read book Introduction to the Standard Model and Beyond written by Stuart Raby and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2021-07-08 with total page 650 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Standard Model of particle physics is an amazingly successful theory describing the fundamental particles and forces of nature. This text, written for a two-semester graduate course on the Standard Model, develops a practical understanding of the theoretical concepts it's built upon, to prepare students to enter research. The author takes a historical approach to demonstrate to students the process of discovery which is often overlooked in other textbooks, presenting quantum field theory and symmetries as the necessary tools for describing and understanding the Standard Model. He develops these tools using a basic understanding of quantum mechanics and classical field theory, such as Maxwell's electrodynamics, before discussing the important role that Noether's theorem and conserved charges play in the theory. Worked examples feature throughout the text, while homework exercises are included for the first five parts, with solutions available online for instructors. Inspired by the author's own teaching experience, suggestions for independent research topics have been provided for the second-half of the course, which students can then present to the rest of the class.
