Download or read book Teaching Electromagnetics written by Krishnasamy T. Selvan and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-06-18 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Teaching Electromagnetics: Innovative Approaches and Pedagogical Strategies is a guide for educators addressing course content and pedagogical methods primarily at the undergraduate level in electromagnetic theory and its applications. Topics include teaching methods, lab experiences and hands-on learning, and course structures that help teachers respond effectively to trends in learning styles and evolving engineering curricula. The book grapples with issues related to the recent worldwide shift to remote teaching. Each chapter begins with a high-level consideration of the topic, reviews previous work and publications, and gives the reader a broad picture of the topic before delving into details. Chapters include specific guidance for those who want to implement the methods and assessment results and evaluation of the effectiveness of the methods. Respecting the limited time available to the average teacher to try new methods, the chapters focus on why an instructor should adopt the methods proposed in it. Topics include virtual laboratories, computer-assisted learning, and MATLAB® tools. The authors also review flipped classrooms and online teaching methods that support remote teaching and learning. The end result should be an impact on the reader represented by improvements to his or her practical teaching methods and curricular approach to electromagnetics education. The book is intended for electrical engineering professors, students, lab instructors, and practicing engineers with an interest in teaching and learning. In summary, this book: Surveys methods and tools for teaching the foundations of wireless communications and electromagnetic theory Presents practical experience and best practices for topical coverage, course sequencing, and content Covers virtual laboratories, computer-assisted learning, and MATLAB tools Reviews flipped classroom and online teaching methods that support remote teaching and learning Helps instructors in RF systems, field theory, and wireless communications bring their teaching practice up to date Dr. Krishnasamy T. Selvan is Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, SSN College of Engineering, since June 2012. Dr. Karl F. Warnick is Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at BYU.
Download or read book Magnetism and Magnetic Materials written by R L White and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Magnetism and Magnetic Materials: 1965 Digest: A Survey of the Technical Literature of the Preceding Year focuses on the processes, methodologies, reactions, technologies, and advancements in magnetism and magnetic materials. The selection first offers information on general theoretical problems, including spin-wave dispersion, exchange integral, magnetic ordering, soluble models, magnetic phase transitions, and conduction electron spin polarization. The text then ponders on neutron diffraction, spin configurations, and magnetic transitions and properties of transition metals and their alloys. Topics include neutron scattering theory and equipment; spin configurations and magnetic transitions; magnetic behavior; rare earth alloys and compounds; and other alloys and compounds. The publication takes a look at the properties of magnetically dilute alloys and rare earth metals and their alloys. Discussions focus on rare earth intermetallic compounds, transition metals in noble metals, and other dilute alloys. The text then examines the technical properties of soft magnetic materials, magnetically hard materials, thin films, and nuclear magnetism. The selection is a valuable source of data for readers interested in magnetism and magnetic materials.

Download or read book M ssbauer Spectroscopy Applied to Inorganic Chemistry written by G.J Long and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 652 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1988 the Mossbauer effect community completed 30 years of continual contribution to the fields of nuclear physics, solid state science, and a variety of related disciplines. To celebrate this anniversary, Professor Gonser of the Universitat des Saarlandes has contributed a chapter to this volume on the history of the effect. Although Mossbauer spectroscopy has reached its mature years, the chapters in this volume illustrate that it is still a dynamic field of science with applications to topics ranging from permanent magnets to biologi cal mineralization. During the discussion of a possible chapter for this volume, a potential author asked, "Do we really need another Mossbauer book?" The editors responded in the affirmative because they believe that a volume of this type offers several advantages. First, it provides the author with an opportunity to write a personal view of the subject, either with or without extensive pedagogic content. Second, there is no artificially imposed restriction on length. In response to the question, "How long should my chapter be?," we have responded that it should be as long as is necessary to clearly present, explain, and evaluate the topic. In this type of book, it is not necessary to condense the topic into two, four, or eight pages as is now so often a requirement for publication in the research literature.
