Upon motion of R. M. Saunders, the meeting was organized by electing William A. Graham, Chairman. Upon motion, R. Gorrell and S. F. Phillips were elected Secretaries. The Treasurer of the Company having reported informally that a majority of the shares held by private Stockholders was represented in this meeting by more than one hundred individuals in person or by proxy; upon motion of R. M. Saunders, H. C. Jones, Daniel Coleman and F. Fries were appointed a committee, who with the Secretary of the Company, should verify the proxies, and make their report to this meeting. Upon motion of R. Barringer, the President of the Company was requested to submit any report which had been prepared for the information of the Stockholders. Whereupon John M. Morehead submitted the following report, which was read, and upon motion of J. W. Ellis, laid upon the table.
