Book Analytic Methods in Systems and Software Testing

Download or read book Analytic Methods in Systems and Software Testing written by Ron S. Kenett and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-09-04 with total page 570 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive treatment of systems and software testing using state of the art methods and tools This book provides valuable insights into state of the art software testing methods and explains, with examples, the statistical and analytic methods used in this field. Numerous examples are used to provide understanding in applying these methods to real-world problems. Leading authorities in applied statistics, computer science, and software engineering present state-of-the-art methods addressing challenges faced by practitioners and researchers involved in system and software testing. Methods include: machine learning, Bayesian methods, graphical models, experimental design, generalized regression, and reliability modeling. Analytic Methods in Systems and Software Testing presents its comprehensive collection of methods in four parts: Part I: Testing Concepts and Methods; Part II: Statistical Models; Part III: Testing Infrastructures; and Part IV: Testing Applications. It seeks to maintain a focus on analytic methods, while at the same time offering a contextual landscape of modern engineering, in order to introduce related statistical and probabilistic models used in this domain. This makes the book an incredibly useful tool, offering interesting insights on challenges in the field for researchers and practitioners alike. Compiles cutting-edge methods and examples of analytical approaches to systems and software testing from leading authorities in applied statistics, computer science, and software engineering Combines methods and examples focused on the analytic aspects of systems and software testing Covers logistic regression, machine learning, Bayesian methods, graphical models, experimental design, generalized regression, and reliability models Written by leading researchers and practitioners in the field, from diverse backgrounds including research, business, government, and consulting Stimulates research at the theoretical and practical level Analytic Methods in Systems and Software Testing is an excellent advanced reference directed toward industrial and academic readers whose work in systems and software development approaches or surpasses existing frontiers of testing and validation procedures. It will also be valuable to post-graduate students in computer science and mathematics.

Book Product Focused Software Process Improvement

Download or read book Product Focused Software Process Improvement written by Frank Bomarius and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-06-30 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Third International Conference on Product Focused Software Process Improvement (PROFES 2001) continued the success of the PROFES’99 and PROFES 2000 conferences. PROFES 2001 was organized in Kaiserslautern, Germany, September 10 13, 2001. The PROFES conference has its roots in the PROFES Esprit project (http://www.ele.vtt.fi/profes/), but it quickly evolved into a full fledged general purpose conference in 1999 and since then it has gained wide spread international popularity. As in previous years, the main theme of PROFES 2001 was professional software process improvement (SPI) motivated by product and service quality needs. SPI is facilitated by software process assessment, software measurement, process modeling, and technology transfer and has become a practical tool for quality software engineering and management. The conference addresses both the solutions found in practice as well as relevant research results from academia. The purpose of the conference is to bring to light the most recent findings and results in the area and to stimulate discussion between the researchers, experienced professionals, and technology providers for SPI.

Book Handbook of Software Fault Localization

Download or read book Handbook of Software Fault Localization written by W. Eric Wong and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-05-09 with total page 614 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Handbook of Software Fault Localization A comprehensive analysis of fault localization techniques and strategies In Handbook of Software Fault Localization: Foundations and Advances, distinguished computer scientists Prof. W. Eric Wong and Prof. T.H. Tse deliver a robust treatment of up-to-date techniques, tools, and essential issues in software fault localization. The authors offer collective discussions of fault localization strategies with an emphasis on the most important features of each approach. The book also explores critical aspects of software fault localization, like multiple bugs, successful and failed test cases, coincidental correctness, faults introduced by missing code, the combination of several fault localization techniques, ties within fault localization rankings, concurrency bugs, spreadsheet fault localization, and theoretical studies on fault localization. Readers will benefit from the authors’ straightforward discussions of how to apply cost-effective techniques to a variety of specific environments common in the real world. They will also enjoy the in-depth explorations of recent research directions on this topic. Handbook of Software Fault Localization also includes: A thorough introduction to the concepts of software testing and debugging, their importance, typical challenges, and the consequences of poor efforts Comprehensive explorations of traditional fault localization techniques, including program logging, assertions, and breakpoints Practical discussions of slicing-based, program spectrum-based, and statistics-based techniques In-depth examinations of machine learning-, data mining-, and model-based techniques for software fault localization Perfect for researchers, professors, and students studying and working in the field, Handbook of Software Fault Localization: Foundations and Advances is also an indispensable resource for software engineers, managers, and software project decision makers responsible for schedule and budget control.
