Book A High Tech Business Venture Start Up Growth and Closure

Download or read book A High Tech Business Venture Start Up Growth and Closure written by Haripada Dhar and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2018-04-06 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From conception of a novel idea to the production and marketing of kilowatt-range fuel cells (PEM or proton exchange membrane) and related products achieved in the business venture is what this book is about. The urge to start a business came from the momentum generated through suffering of being laid off from a job and going through the changes from job to job for a few years. Finding an innovative idea for the business, establishing the business, getting funding for the development of the business, making and selling products—these are all steps of entrepreneurship. Some people may be a natural entrepreneur, others may learn from the family tradition, and still others may get it from the inner urgings. Establishing a business in the high-technology area, in particular, starting it from scratch requires proper education, training, strong motivation, and personal drive. It requires a tremendous push from various sources to start a business. Another important motivation for having my own business was to give my family a stable environment for living. I suffered a lot during the period I was looking for a job and was moving from one place to another. I moved from Toronto (Canada) to Texas (USA), Texas to Connecticut, and from there to Arizona, then to California, and back to Texas. Such moving around (and the instability it creates) is not favorable for the dependents and, in particular, to children in their formative ages. If they do not have to move, they would be more secure and stable. It took about fifteen years after my PhD education when I was able to start my own business. Coming from a third-world country was another disadvantage for me—for many things I did or could not do.

Download or read book Something Worth Reading for Inspiration written by Haripada Dhar and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2017-07-06 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this world and society, God has placed each of us in particular places and circumstances. We, according to our own action (karma), evolution, education, talents and abilities, earn our living. Can everyone become rich? It may or may not be possible. But can everyone improve their lot if they become successful and/or happier? The answer is firmly affirmative. If one meditates regularly, one can achieve this modest goal.

Book Treatise on Process Metallurgy Volume 3 Industrial Processes

Download or read book Treatise on Process Metallurgy Volume 3 Industrial Processes written by and published by Newnes. This book was released on 2013-12-09 with total page 1810 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Process metallurgy provides academics with the fundamentals of the manufacturing of metallic materials, from raw materials into finished parts or products. Coverage is divided into three volumes, entitled Process Fundamentals, encompassing process fundamentals, extractive and refining processes, and metallurgical process phenomena; Processing Phenomena, encompassing ferrous processing; non-ferrous processing; and refractory, reactive and aqueous processing of metals; and Industrial Processes, encompassing process modeling and computational tools, energy optimization, environmental aspects and industrial design. The work distils 400+ years combined academic experience from the principal editor and multidisciplinary 14-member editorial advisory board, providing the 2,608-page work with a seal of quality. The volumes will function as the process counterpart to Robert Cahn and Peter Haasen’s famous reference family, Physical Metallurgy (1996)--which excluded process metallurgy from consideration and which is currently undergoing a major revision under the editorship of David Laughlin and Kazuhiro Hono (publishing 2014). Nevertheless, process and extractive metallurgy are fields within their own right, and this work will be of interest to libraries supporting courses in the process area. Synthesizes the most pertinent contemporary developments within process metallurgy so scientists have authoritative information at their fingertips Replaces existing articles and monographs with a single complete solution, saving time for busy scientists Helps metallurgists to predict changes and consequences and create or modify whatever process is deployed

Book Environmentally Benign Approaches for Pulp Bleaching

Download or read book Environmentally Benign Approaches for Pulp Bleaching written by Pratima Bajpai and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2005-08-05 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pulp and paper production has increased globally and will continue to increase in the near future. Approximately 155 millions tons of wood pulp is produced worldwide and about 260 millions is projected for 2010. To cope with the increasing demand, an increase in production and improved environmental performance is needed as the industry is under constant pressure to reduce environmental emissions to air and water. This book gives updated information on environmentally benign approaches for pulp bleaching, which can help solve the problems associated with conventional bleaching technologies. * Main focus is on the environmentally friendly technologies that can help solve some of the problems associated with conventional bleaching technologies * Information given is up-to-date, authoritative and cites the experiences of many mills and pertinent research, which is of interest to those working in the industry or intending to do so * Covers in great depth all the aspects of various bleaching processes including environmental issues

Book Basic Research and Technologies for Two Stage to Orbit Vehicles

Download or read book Basic Research and Technologies for Two Stage to Orbit Vehicles written by Dieter Jacob and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-03-06 with total page 683 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Focusing on basic aspects of future reusable space transportation systems and covering overall design, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, flight dynamics, propulsion, materials, and structures, this report presents some of the most recent results obtained in these disciplines. The authors are members of three Collaborative Research Centers in Aachen, Munich and Stuttgart concerned with hypersonic vehicles. A major part of the research presented here deals with experimental and numerical aerodynamic topics ranging from low speed to hypersonic flow past the external configuration and through inlet and nozzle. Mathematicians and engineers jointly worked on aspects of flight mechanics like trajectory optimization, stability, control and flying qualities. Structural research and development was predominantly coupled to the needs for high temperature resistant structures for space vehicles.

Book Handbook of Semantic Web Technologies

Download or read book Handbook of Semantic Web Technologies written by John Domingue and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-06-19 with total page 1077 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After years of mostly theoretical research, Semantic Web Technologies are now reaching out into application areas like bioinformatics, eCommerce, eGovernment, or Social Webs. Applications like genomic ontologies, semantic web services, automated catalogue alignment, ontology matching, or blogs and social networks are constantly increasing, often driven or at least backed up by companies like Google, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and others. The need to leverage the potential of combining information in a meaningful way in order to be able to benefit from the Web will create further demand for and interest in Semantic Web research. This movement, based on the growing maturity of related research results, necessitates a reliable reference source from which beginners to the field can draw a first basic knowledge of the main underlying technologies as well as state-of-the-art application areas. This handbook, put together by three leading authorities in the field, and supported by an advisory board of highly reputed researchers, fulfils exactly this need. It is the first dedicated reference work in this field, collecting contributions about both the technical foundations of the Semantic Web as well as their main usage in other scientific fields like life sciences, engineering, business, or education.
