Book Compilers and Operating Systems for Low Power

Download or read book Compilers and Operating Systems for Low Power written by Luca Benini and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-06-28 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Compilers and Operating Systems for Low Power focuses on both application-level compiler directed energy optimization and low-power operating systems. Chapters have been written exclusively for this volume by several of the leading researchers and application developers active in the field. The first six chapters focus on low energy operating systems, or more in general, energy-aware middleware services. The next five chapters are centered on compilation and code optimization. Finally, the last chapter takes a more general viewpoint on mobile computing. The material demonstrates the state-of-the-art work and proves that to obtain the best energy/performance characteristics, compilers, system software, and architecture must work together. The relationship between energy-aware middleware and wireless microsensors, mobile computing and other wireless applications are covered. This work will be of interest to researchers in the areas of low-power computing, embedded systems, compiler optimizations, and operating systems.

Book Low Power Designs in Nanodevices and Circuits for Emerging Applications

Download or read book Low Power Designs in Nanodevices and Circuits for Emerging Applications written by Shilpi Birla and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-11-14 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This reference textbook discusses low power designs for emerging applications. This book focuses on the research challenges associated with theory, design, and applications towards emerging Microelectronics and VLSI device design and developments, about low power consumptions. The advancements in large-scale integration technologies are principally responsible for the growth of the electronics industry. This book is focused on senior undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals in the field of electrical and electronics engineering, nanotechnology. This book: • Discusses various low power techniques and applications for designing efficient circuits. • Covers advance nanodevices such as FinFETs, TFETs, CNTFETs. • Covers various emerging areas like Quantum-Dot Cellular Automata Circuits and FPGAs and sensors. • Discusses applications like memory design for low power applications using nanodevices. The number of options for ICs in control applications, telecommunications, high-performance computing, and consumer electronics continues to grow with the emergence of VLSI designs. Nanodevices have revolutionized the electronics market and human life; it has impacted individual life to make it more convenient. They are ruling every sector such as electronics, energy, biomedicine, food, environment, and communication. This book discusses various emerging low power applications using CMOS and other emerging nanodevices.

Book Modeling Analysis and Optimization of Network on Chip Communication Architectures

Download or read book Modeling Analysis and Optimization of Network on Chip Communication Architectures written by Umit Y. Ogras and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-12 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Traditionally, design space exploration for Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) has focused on the computational aspects of the problem at hand. However, as the number of components on a single chip and their performance continue to increase, the communication architecture plays a major role in the area, performance and energy consumption of the overall system. As a result, a shift from computation-based to communication-based design becomes mandatory. Towards this end, network-on-chip (NoC) communication architectures have emerged recently as a promising alternative to classical bus and point-to-point communication architectures. In this dissertation, we study outstanding research problems related to modeling, analysis and optimization of NoC communication architectures. More precisely, we present novel design methodologies, software tools and FPGA prototypes to aid the design of application-specific NoCs.
