Book Information Hiding

Download or read book Information Hiding written by Ross Anderson and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1996-11-13 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book constitutes the strictly refereed post-workshop proceedings of the First International Workshop on Information Hiding, held in Cambridge, UK, in May/June 1996, within the research programme in computer security, cryptology and coding theory organized by the volume editor at the Isaac Newton Institute in Cambridge. Work on information hiding has been carried out over the last few years within different research communities, mostly unaware of each other's existence. The 26 papers presented define the state of the art and lay the foundation for a common terminology. This workshop is very likely to be seen at some point as one of those landmark events that mark the birth of a new scientific discipline.

Book Performance Analysis of Linear Codes Under Maximum likelihood Decoding

Download or read book Performance Analysis of Linear Codes Under Maximum likelihood Decoding written by Igal Sason and published by Now Publishers Inc. This book was released on 2006 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Performance Analysis of Linear Codes under Maximum-Likelihood Decoding: A Tutorial focuses on the performance evaluation of linear codes under optimal maximum-likelihood (ML) decoding. Though the ML decoding algorithm is prohibitively complex for most practical codes, their performance analysis under ML decoding allows to predict their performance without resorting to computer simulations. Performance Analysis of Linear Codes under Maximum-Likelihood Decoding: A Tutorial is a comprehensive introduction to this important topic for students, practitioners and researchers working in communications and information theory.

Book Coding and Signal Processing for Magnetic Recording Systems

Download or read book Coding and Signal Processing for Magnetic Recording Systems written by Bane Vasic and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2004-11-09 with total page 742 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Implementing new architectures and designs for the magnetic recording read channel have been pushed to the limits of modern integrated circuit manufacturing technology. This book reviews advanced coding and signal processing techniques and architectures for magnetic recording systems. Beginning with the basic principles, it examines read/write operations, data organization, head positioning, sensing, timing recovery, data detection, and error correction. It also provides an in-depth treatment of all recording channel subsystems inside a read channel and hard disk drive controller. The final section reviews new trends in coding, particularly emerging codes for recording channels.

Book Quantum Information Theory

    Book Details:
  • Author : Joseph Renes
  • Publisher : Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG
  • Release : 2022-08-01
  • ISBN : 3110570254
  • Pages : 336 pages

Download or read book Quantum Information Theory written by Joseph Renes and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2022-08-01 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If the carriers of information are governed by quantum mechanics, new principles for information processing apply. This graduate textbook introduces the underlying mathematical theory for quantum communication, computation, and cryptography. A focus lies on the concept of quantum channels, understanding figures of merit, e.g. fidelities and entropies in the quantum world, and understanding the interrelationship of various quantum information processing protocols.

Book Video Coding with Superimposed Motion Compensated Signals

Download or read book Video Coding with Superimposed Motion Compensated Signals written by Markus Flierl and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-04-18 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Appendices 133 A Mathematical Results 133 A.1 Singularities of the Displacement Error Covariance Matrix 133 A.2 A Class of Matrices and their Eigenvalues 134 A.3 Inverse of the Power Spectral Density Matrix 134 A.4 Power Spectral Density of a Frame 136 Glossary 137 References 141 Index 159 Preface This book aims to capture recent advances in motion compensation for - ficient video compression. It investigates linearly combined motion comp- sated signals and generalizes the well known superposition for bidirectional prediction in B-pictures. The number of superimposed signals and the sel- tion of reference pictures will be important aspects of the discussion. The application oriented part of the book employs this concept to the well known ITU-T Recommendation H.263 and continues with the improvements by superimposed motion-compensated signals for the emerging ITU-T R- ommendation H.264 and ISO/IEC MPEG-4 (Part 10). In addition, it discusses a new approach for wavelet-based video coding. This technology is currently investigated by MPEG to develop a new video compression standard for the mid-term future.

Book The Mathematics of Information Coding Extraction and Distribution

Download or read book The Mathematics of Information Coding Extraction and Distribution written by George Cybenko and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High performance computing consumes and generates vast amounts of data, and the storage, retrieval, and transmission of this data are major obstacles to effective use of computing power. Challenges inherent in all of these operations are security, speed, reliability, authentication and reproducibility. This workshop focused on a wide variety of technical results aimed at meeting these challenges. Topics ranging from the mathematics of coding theory to the practicalities of copyright preservation for Internet resources drew spirited discussion and interaction among experts in diverse but related fields. We hope this volume contributes to continuing this dialogue.
