This book was released on 2023-01-01 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Expert Systems and Decision Support in Medicine

Download or read book Expert Systems and Decision Support in Medicine written by Otto Rienhoff and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 584 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 33rd Annual Meeting of the German Association for Medical Documentation, Informatics and Statistics was combined with a Special Topic Conference of the European Federation for Medical Informatics and takes place at Hannover, F. R. of Germany, from September 26 to 29, 1988. It was planned and initililly prepared by the late Prof. P. L Reichertz, who headed the Hannover institute from 1969 to 1987. To commemorate his contribution to the development of medicine the conference was devoted to him "Peter Reichertz Memorial Conference on Expert Systems and Decision Support in Medicine" Since computers in the early Fifties were first applied to support medical reasoning, various phases of euphoria and resi~ation have . followed. Every new methodology which became technically possible was and will be applied to the old questlon of how to diagnose diseases more reliably. Artificial Intelligence is just one new approach to the old challenge. Over the years some· authors have been very optimistic and put forward opinions which motivated the common press to coin the phrase 'Dr. med. computer'. Papers printed under this heading rebuffed the majority of physiCians for many years. Today we know that medical decision making is a most complex buman performance. And 30 years of research on decision support have given us only limited insight into the underlying processes. Most of the principal methodological questions were already asked very early on.

Book Representing Social Precarity in German Literature and Film

Download or read book Representing Social Precarity in German Literature and Film written by Sophie Duvernoy and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2023-10-05 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using Germany as a national case study, this volume examines the historical genesis of precarity, its evolution from 19th-century industrial modernity to the present, and its reflections and reconfigurations in artistic production, in particular with relation to work, gender, and sexuality. “Precarity is everywhere now,” sociologist Pierre Bourdieu declared almost thirty years ago. Not only declining middle-class standards of living, but also debt, drug addiction, housing and food insecurity, depression, and “deaths of despair” are now being recognized as symptoms of the downward pull of social precarity. Although these and similar ills have been attributed to neoliberal policies of deregulation, privatization, and willful neglect of the common good, precarization has accompanied the booms and busts of industrial modernity from its beginnings. Representing Social Precarity in German Literature and Film explores how German and Austrian literature, film, and social history have engaged with social precarity, from the period of Romanticism and early industrialization to the present. The chapters in this volume deal with precarity as both an objective phenomenon reflected in literary and filmic representations and as a subjective phenomenon that gives these representations their particular shape. Representing Social Precarity in German Literature and Film opens new critical perspectives on diverse forms of lived precarity and their creative manifestations by reflecting on the history of capitalist modernity from the vantage points of weakness, vulnerability, marginality, impoverishment, and otherness.

The papers contained in the first part of the volume concentrate on appointment policies, career structures and the impact of military presence and recuitment, esp. in border provinces, in the period of the Principate (27 B.C. – A.D. 284). In the second part of the volume the reader will find papers on Roman jurists, administrators, and bureaucrats and articles about administrative procedures, the administration of justice, rescripts and the influence of learned juridical treatises in various regions of the Roman empire. The last section of the volume presents contributions on the impact of the Roman imperial administration and appointment policies on communal rights and politics, the composition of local councils, local administrative structures, Romanisation, and social mobility of regional and local notables in various provinces of the Roman Empire.

Book Handbook on bentonite bonded moulding material

Download or read book Handbook on bentonite bonded moulding material written by Werner Tilch and published by Fachverlag Schiele & Schoen. This book was released on 2020-02-27 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to estimates, modern foundries in Germany, Europe and worldwide replace about 70 % of their lost moulds with moulds made of bentonite-bonded materials. The main mould components are quartz sand, bentonite and water. These components are compacted in one of the most productive procedures in the foundry. One of the main advantages of this moulding material system is the ability to restore the bonding power of most of the material. This ability creates a moulding material circulation system. This system and the use of mostly inorganic moulding materials make this creation of moulds the most environmentally friendly choice for the cast part production. Because of this circulation of moulding materials and specifically because of the bentonite/water bonding system, the preparation of moulds made from bentonite-bonded moulding materials is very different from making moulds and cores using materials with chemical binders. This manual describes the handling and preparation of bentonite-bonded moulding materials as well as the moulding material recovery and re-use after forming the cast part.

Book Far infrared Spectroscopy of Dimethyl Ether and its 13C enriched Isotopologues and First Spectroscopic Characterization of Tert butyl dibromophosphane

Download or read book Far infrared Spectroscopy of Dimethyl Ether and its 13C enriched Isotopologues and First Spectroscopic Characterization of Tert butyl dibromophosphane written by Kutzer, Pia and published by kassel university press GmbH. This book was released on 2016-01-01 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this study two different molecules, dimethylether and its ¹³C substituted isotopologues as well as tert-butyl-dibromophosphane have been spectroscopically investigated by the means of Fourier-Transform infrared spectroscopy. The spectra of dimethyl-ether isotopologues were recorded at the AILES beamline at the SOLEIL Synchrotron facility in a spectral range between 70 cm-1 and 500 cm-1. Despite of recent laboratory studies and its increasing relevance to astrophysics, accurate high resolution spectra of the vibrational excited ?7 band of all isotopologues have been missing up to now. Tert-butyl-dibromophosphane is a complex molecule and the main abundant isotopologue tBuP79 Br81Br is chiral. All associated vibrational modes could be calculated. A first broadband spectrum of tert-butyl-dibromophosphane between 80cm-1 and 3100 cm-1 could be obtained by a combination of experiments at the Kassel university laboratories and at SOLEIL in France.
