Download or read book Analytical Mechanics written by J.L. Lagrange and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-04-17 with total page 634 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Mécanique analytique presents a comprehensive account of Lagrangian mechanics. In this work, Lagrange used the Principle of Virtual Work in conjunction with the Lagrangian Multiplier to solve all problems of statics. For the treatment of dynamics, a third concept had to be added to the first two - d'Alembert's Principle - in order to develop the Lagrangian equations of motion. Hence, Lagrange was able to unify the entire science of mechanics using only three concepts and algebraic operations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This mature textbook brings the fundamentals of fluid mechanics in a concise and mathematically understandable presentation. In the current edition, a section on dissipation and viscous potential flows has been added. Exercises with solutions help to apply the material correctly and promote understanding. This book is a translation of the original German 11th edition Grundzüge der Strömungslehre by Jürgen Zierep & Karl Bühler, published by Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH, part of Springer Nature in 2018. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence (machine translation by the service DeepL.com). A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book will read stylistically differently from a conventional translation. Springer Nature works continuously to further the development of tools for the production of books and on the related technologies to support the authors.

Download or read book Just Enough Physiology written by James R. Munis and published by OUP USA. This book was released on 2012-01-27 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just Enough Physiology takes the reader on a guided tour of cardiopulmonary physiology. You'll discover how the heart, lungs, and circulation work in extreme environments so that you're better equipped to understand how they function - or malfunction - at the bedside, in the operating room, or in the intensive care unit. Like the brain teasers that are included at the end of each chapter, Just Enough Physiology emphasizes the logic, and not just the details, behind physiology. Just Enough Physiology will prepare all students and physicians-in-training for board exams while also teaching them how to think like a physiologist.

Book Principles of Yacht Design

Book Concepts in Submarine Design

Download or read book Concepts in Submarine Design written by Roy Burcher and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1995-10-27 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the many engineering and architectural aspects of submarine design and how they relate to each other and the operational performance required of the vessel. Concepts of hydrodynamics, structure, powering and dynamics are explained, in addition to architectural considerations which bear on the submarine design process. The interplay between these aspects of design is given particular attention, and a final chapter is devoted to the generation of the concept design for the submarine as a whole. Submarine design makes extensive use of computer aids, and examples of algorithms used in concept design are given. The emphasis in the book is on providing engineering insight as well as an understanding of the intricacies of the submarine design process. It will serve as a text for students and as a reference manual for practising engineers and designers.
