Book Instrumentation and Measurement in Electrical Engineering

Download or read book Instrumentation and Measurement in Electrical Engineering written by Roman Malaric and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2011 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inclusion of an electrical measurement course in the undergraduate curriculum of electrical engineering is important in forming the technical and scientific knowledge of future electrical engineers. This book explains the basic measurement techniques, instruments, and methods used in everyday practice. It covers in detail both analogue and digital instruments, measurements errors and uncertainty, instrument transformers, bridges, amplifiers, oscilloscopes, data acquisition, sensors, instrument controls and measurement systems. The reader will learn how to apply the most appropriate measurement method and instrument for a particular application, and how to assemble the measurement system from physical quantity to the digital data in a computer. The book is primarily intended to cover all necessary topics of instrumentation and measurement for students of electrical engineering, but can also serve as a reference for engineers and practitioners to expand or refresh their knowledge in this field.

Book Principles of Electrical Measurements

Download or read book Principles of Electrical Measurements written by Arthur Whitmore Smith and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-15 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Principles of Electrical Measurements This book is written for the instruction of those who are beginning their course in Electrical Engineering, or who desire a more complete understanding of this branch of Physics than is afforded in most elementary manuals, and as far as possible the first consideration has been the requirements of such readers. It is the result of ten years of teaching the subject in the University of Michigan and as now presented it meets the requirements for a class book as well as a laboratory manual. The aim has been to lead the student to learn the facts from his own observations, and direct information is often replaced by a suggestion how the information can be obtained. This leads to independent investigation and does not dull the keen pleasure of discovery by knowing the result before the experiment is tried. The book is arranged on the progressive system. The simpler and more fundamental parts of the subject are taken up in the first chapters, and in the first part of each chapter, while the more difficult measurements and the methods involving more extended knowledge are reserved until the student has attained greater proficiency. For example. Chapter I shows how to measure current, E.M.F., resistance, and power, by ammeter and voltmeter methods. For an elementary course in Electrical Measurements nothing could be better than this series of simple experiments, well understood. They bring out the fundamental relations with a minimum of apparatus to confuse the mind; and they are not out of place at the beginning of a more extended course which contemplates using the entire book.
