Book Microbiological Contamination Control in Pharmaceutical Clean Rooms

Download or read book Microbiological Contamination Control in Pharmaceutical Clean Rooms written by Nigel Halls and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2004-06-25 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contamination control in pharmaceutical clean rooms has developed from a jumble of science and engineering, knowledge of what has worked well or badly in the past, dependent upon the technology available at the time the clean room was built and subsequent technological developments. Surrounding it all is a blanket of regulations. Taking a multidisciplinary approach, Microbiological Contamination Control for Pharmaceutical Clean Rooms neatly clarifies some of the perceived problems surrounding contamination control in pharmaceutical industry clean rooms. The book helps you satisfy domestic and international regulations and prevent your organization from suffering the consequences of non-compliance. It includes up-to-date information on microbiological contamination in sterile manufacturing, microbiological media fills, microbiological environmental monitoring, control in aqueous-based, non-sterile pharmaceuticals, rapid testing methods, and clean room contamination control. This valuable guide brings you up to date on the types of techniques available, the scientific principles that underpin them, and the practicalities and limitations of each.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In writing this book, our goal was to produce a much needed teaching and reference text with a fresh approach to c1eanroom technology. The most obvious technological reason for bringing this book into being is that c1ean rooms have become vital to the manufacture and development of high technology products in both the commercial and military sectors, and there fore people have to develop an understanding of them. Examples of c1ean room applications include the manufacture of integrated circuits and other electronic components, preciSion mechanical assemblies, computer disks and drives, compact disks, optical components, medical implants and prostheses, pharmaceuticals and biochemicals, and so on. The book is written for anyone who is currently involved, or intends to become involved, with c1eanrooms. We intend it to be used by a wide range of professional groups including process engineers, production engineers, plant mechanical and electrical engineers, research engineers and scientists, managers, and so on. In addition, we believe it will be beneficial to those who design, build, service, and supply c1eanrooms, and may be used as a training aid for students who intend to pursue a career involving controlled environments and others such as c1eanroom operators and maintenance staff. We have attempted to steer clear of complex theory, which may be pursued in many other specialist texts, and keep the book as understandable and applicable as possible.

Book Contamination Control in Practice

Download or read book Contamination Control in Practice written by Matts Ramstorp and published by Wiley-VCH. This book was released on 2003 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contamination control has received great interest and found increasing use within several industrial branches including microelectronics, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages using various concepts of contamination control in their production, purification or packaging process. The book supplies a holistic view of contamination control, presenting the different types of contaminants in a summarized form. The focus is on how to protect products and processes from external contamination and also on different ways to take care of and control contaminants generated in the process. The aim is to eliminate them from a product or a process flow (e.g. through filtration), or to render them harmless (e.g. through sterilisation by moist heat). Product purity or the cleanliness of process flows are often complex matters and hard to define in easily understood terms. This book covers a variety of different techniques used in order to achieve and maintain certain overall cleanliness levels for both microbiological or inanimate particle contaminants. It supplies basic knowledge including validation aspects for industrial branches working with increased demands of cleanliness, for instance water purification, steam, pressurized gases and different flows in a process together with finished products.

Book A New Principle for Airborne Contamination Control in Clean Rooms and Work Stations

Download or read book A New Principle for Airborne Contamination Control in Clean Rooms and Work Stations written by J. C. Mashburn and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A description is given of a new principle of closely controlling airborne contaminants in clean rooms and work stations that provides two basic improvements over the conventional principle. First, the system of air-flow patterns and filtration provides and maintains airborne contamination levels of less than 1000 particles per cu ft, 0.32 ? and larger. This level is attainable in both clean rooms and open-front work stations. Secondly, about 90 per cent of personnel restrictions required by conventional clean rooms are eliminated. Clean-room clothing is not needed; and, in most installations, air showers and entry ways also are not needed. Data about two clean rooms and a work station are presented, all of which are based on a new principle for airborne contamination control.
