This book was released on 2023-10-23 with total page 430 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book integrates texts prepared by a single author and is based on a variety of fundamental concepts and instruments applied in investment decisions from a diversity of texts. The book approaches investment decisions from the perspective of the financial system and economic agents (which can be investors and borrowers of funds, firms, or individuals). The wide variety of assets available is one of the reasons why new methods for managing an investment portfolio often emerge. Thus, by opting for a more comprehensive approach, it is possible to cover a more comprehensive range of financial assets and investment strategies. As this is a compilation of articles, the 24 chapters cover topics such as the globalization of markets, leverage and working capital in corporate finance, asset and liability management and corporate hedging, investment decisions and business valuation, besides concepts and applications of macro and microeconomics.

Academics from China and Brazil lend themselves, through this cooperation, to the production of knowledge that serves as a basis for an adequate regulation of the matter, taking into account the international law for people’s development and the common principles of environmental protection added to the social protection and improvement of institutions plus the control of planned actions regarding the execution and implementation of this new energy matrix. Law is a language that makes it possible, in addition to esolving possible conflicts, to guide and put into practice concrete actions in the sense of expanding possibilities for the good use of renewable energies.
Download or read book The Analysis of Economic Environment written by María Teresa Freire Rubio and published by ESIC. This book was released on 2020-07-22 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book makes economic concepts more accessible to all those who want to understand the “logic” behind economics, and tries to go a step further in explaining economic analysis and its usefulness. To do so, it begins by analysing the economy the smallest and most detailed perspective, Microeconomics. Once the criteria for the individual economic decisions have been defined, it will move on to analyse how the economic activities of a country are measured and its main economic problems at an aggregate level, i.e. Macroeconomics and afterwards, it gives greater dimension to the analysis, moving the macroeconomic analysis of a country to an analysis of the International Economy. In short, in order to reach our final analysis and understand international economic relations, we must first understand how economic decisions are made at an individual level, as it is the sum of individual decisions that shape the global economic structure.

This book was released on 2021-08-30 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Outsourcing and Service Work in the New Economy written by José-Luis Álvarez-Galván and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2012-03-15 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the impact of outsourcing on workers and their employment conditions in the new economy. To do so, the call centre industry in Mexico City is analysed through a large number of in-depth interviews with workers and managers, available statistics and visits to leading firms in the sector. The case of call centres is paradigmatic as it is often seen as a flag-ship industry of the new economy, rapidly growing and subject to high pressures for costs reduction. The Mexican experience is crucially relevant to understand employment conditions in a weak institutional setting where labour protection is low and business competition intense. Overall, outsourcing has gained popularity as a mechanism to deal with the uncertainty of increasingly challenging business environments. Nonetheless, the practice of outsourcing also raises important concerns. This book identifies those managerial practices which have a substantial impact on workers and their employment conditions such as: job designs; customer segmentation; non-standard contracts; intensified supervision; union avoidance; limited career opportunities; and strict social divisions in the workplace. These findings also suggest that a number of practices that were common in the ‘old’ economy are still dominant in the organisation of work in the twenty-first century. The book is a useful reference for scholars and students concerned with employment and labour studies, economic development, and globalisation.

Download or read book The Political Economy of Contemporary Spain written by Luis Buendía and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-02-05 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The so-called ‘Spanish miracle’, beginning in the mid-1990s, eventually became a nightmare for the majority of the population, culminating in the present-day economic and political crisis. This book explores the main features of the Spanish political-economic model during both the growth and crisis periods. Analyzing the causes and consequences of the continuing economic crisis in Spain, this book delves into five analytical axes: the evolution of the growth model; the role of Spain in the international division of labor; the financial sector and its influence on the rest of the economy; changes in the labor market; and the distributional consequences of both the expansive phase and the later crisis. Furthermore, contributors examine the formation of a triangle of actors (the government sector, building sector, and financial capital) that shaped the Spanish growth model, together with the effects of Spain’s membership in the Economic and Monetary Union. Also considering ecological problems, gender issues, and the immigration question, this book challenges the alleged recovery of living conditions during recent years, as well as the explanation of the crisis as the result of irrational behaviors or the greedy nature of certain actors. The Political Economy of Contemporary Spain provides a coherent explanation of the Spanish economic crisis based on a pluralistic approach, while proposing several measures that could contribute to a transformation of Spain’s economic and social models.
