Book excerpt: "The United States Code is the official codification of the general and permanent laws of the United States of America. The Code was first published in 1926, and a new edition of the code has been published every six years since 1934. The 2012 edition of the Code incorporates laws enacted through the One Hundred Twelfth Congress, Second Session, the last of which was signed by the President on January 15, 2013. It does not include laws of the One Hundred Thirteenth Congress, First Session, enacted between January 2, 2013, the date it convened, and January 15, 2013. By statutory authority this edition may be cited "U.S.C. 2012 ed." As adopted in 1926, the Code established prima facie the general and permanent laws of the United States. The underlying statutes reprinted in the Code remained in effect and controlled over the Code in case of any discrepancy. In 1947, Congress began enacting individual titles of the Code into positive law. When a title is enacted into positive law, the underlying statutes are repealed and the title then becomes legal evidence of the law. Currently, 26 of the 51 titles in the Code have been so enacted. These are identified in the table of titles near the beginning of each volume. The Law Revision Counsel of the House of Representatives continues to prepare legislation pursuant to 2 U.S.C. 285b to enact the remainder of the Code, on a title-by-title basis, into positive law. The 2012 edition of the Code was prepared and published under the supervision of Ralph V. Seep, Law Revision Counsel. Grateful acknowledgment is made of the contributions by all who helped in this work, particularly the staffs of the Office of the Law Revision Counsel and the Government Printing Office"--Preface.

This book was released on with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The CFCM Study Guide is designed to assist candidates in reading the FAR by summarizing each part and highlighting critical definitions and information. It is intended as a detailed study outline of the main topics within each FAR part and includes specific references. The 4th Edition is divided by FAR subchapters A–H. Each subchapter section contains a brief “at a glance” summary of the FAR parts contained in that subchapter followed by a more in-depth summary of each part. The CFCM Study Guide provides references to specific thresholds, limitations, and requirements. Use the citations provided in the guide to find the most up-to-date thresholds in the FAR. This study guide has been updated to incorporate changes up to and including Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-06. As stated above, CFCM candidates are responsible for updates. Check National Contract Management's website for additional information about what is covered on the CFCM examination. The CFCM Study Guide comes with a full CFCM practice exam at the end of the book as well as an answer key to self-grade your responses. As noted, the questions on the practice exam may resemble those on the examination but were developed independently of the actual exam. Therefore, they are not the actual exam questions. Memorization of the practice exam questions and answers is not sufficient preparation for the examination.

This book was released on 2023-01-07 with total page 1072 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A must-have reference for contract management professionals, the CMBOK presents what should be learned by contract managers and how they should learn it. The content was developed through a voluntary consensus process governed and administered by NCMA to promote the fair development of consensus. This consensus was established through a job task analysis survey of contract managers and working groups comprised of subject matter experts in contract management. The CMBOK is not solely for the benefit of contract managers; contract managers are not the only ones involved in contract management activities. Numerous stakeholders measure success or failure by contract performance. Knowledge of contract management and competent contract management processes directly impacts the success of contract performance. The seventh edition of the CMBOK is primarily driven by the changes to the Contract Management Standard™ (CMS™). In June 2022, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) reaffirmed the NCMA CMS™ as an American National Standard (ANS). This ANS [ANSI/NCMA ASD 1-2019 (R2022)—see Annex] serves as the CMBOK’s foundational document to expand, refine, and reorganize contract management knowledge. The CMBOK provides further definition of the field of contract management; the framework for the body of knowledge; and the practices, lexicon, and processes of contract management. In addition, it provides procedural steps for contract management processes in general, as well as for specialized areas, including government or commercial contracting.
