Download or read book The Very Serious and Boring Coloring Book for Responsible Adults written by Derek Murphy and published by . This book was released on 2016-04-14 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a very serious adult coloring book.FOR GROWNUPS. Here's the thing, at some point we all grew up and stopped coloring. We stopped tapping into that source of pure creative genius, and started following rules. We forgot what creative freedom really felt like. We learned how to be functionally creative - as in, doing the things we are supposed to do. Usually other people's things. Because they wanted us to. Sometimes for money, sometimes as a favor. We forgot how it felt to create just because, and to do it our way. The adult coloring craze is a symptom of what we've lost, as grownups struggle to find peace and happiness in the face of a dream-crushing workplace and financial insecurity. But it isn't enough. Yes, colors can make you feel good. But those black lines on the page might as well be prison bars, locking up the creative child within who wants to color what they see in their imagination - not some other artist's. This BOOK WILL ASK YOU TO DO SOMETHING MUCH MORE DARING. It may challenge you. I want you to color without lines. I want you to color for yourself, without worrying about how "good" it is. Nobody else has to see this. This is just for you. And while I want to liberate your creativity, I also understand the importance, for adults, of doing meaningful things, and making the best use of your time. I understand you might feel silly for "wasting time" on coloring ridiculous things. And I know it may be hard to think of what to color. SO I'm going to lead you on an adventureof guided coloring exercises. These exercises are designed to be fun, but are also pragmatic. We'll be addressing your repressed dreams, your secret desires, your darkest fears. I'm going to use this book as an advanced-level form of aesthetic psycho-therapy, and through the coloring process you'll be exorcising your demons, slaying your dragons, and discovering the pot of gold at the end of your rainbow. This will be a fantastic journey, as grand as you can imagine it, with no pesky black lines to reign in your magical powers of creation. This isn't a test. If you don't know what something I ask you to draw looks like, find a picture online to copy. This also isn't a game: visualization is a powerful goal-setting technique. Think of this book like a vision board. Not only will these exercises strengthen and empower you, and fill you with confidence and valor, they will also help you become clear on what you really want out of life, and how to attract it to you. But the results depend on the commitment. Take your time, enjoy the coloring process, and express yourself. These are things that you may have thought about before, but rarely have committed serious energy towards. And you need to devote serious energy to these things. Because your life is serious, and what you think about matters. By forcing you to draw and color these things, instead of merely thinking of them, saying them out loud or even writing them down, you'll be giving these issues the consideration, attention and energy they deserve. Just remember, you control your life. You decide what happens. But you have to make choices and decisions, and you have to act consistently in ways that support those decisions. This book will help you get there.

Download or read book Portraits of Courage written by George W. Bush and published by National Geographic Books. This book was released on 2017-02-28 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A vibrant collection of oil paintings and stories by President George W. Bush honoring the sacrifice and courage of America’s military veterans. With Forewords by former First Lady Laura Bush and General Peter Pace, 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Growing out of President Bush’s own outreach and the ongoing work of the George W. Bush Institute's Military Service Initiative, Portraits of Courage brings together sixty-six full-color portraits and a four-panel mural painted by President Bush of members of the United States military who have served our nation with honor since 9/11—and whom he has come to know personally. Our men and women in uniform have faced down enemies, liberated millions, and in doing so showed the true compassion of our nation. Often, they return home with injuries—both visible and invisible—that intensify the challenges of transitioning into civilian life. In addition to these burdens, research shows a civilian-military divide. Seventy-one percent of Americans say they have little understanding of the issues facing veterans, and veterans agree: eighty-four percent say that the public has "little awareness" of the issues facing them and their families. Each painting in this meticulously produced hardcover volume is accompanied by the inspiring story of the veteran depicted, written by the President. Readers can see the faces of those who answered the nation’s call and learn from their bravery on the battlefield, their journeys to recovery, and the continued leadership and contributions they are making as civilians. It is President Bush’s desire that these stories of courage and resilience will honor our men and women in uniform, highlight their family and caregivers who bear the burden of their sacrifice, and help Americans understand how we can support our veterans and empower them to succeed. President Bush will donate his net author proceeds from PORTRAITS OF COURAGE to the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a non-profit organization whose Military Service Initiative works to ensure that post-9/11 veterans and their families make successful transitions to civilian life with a focus on gaining meaningful employment and overcoming the invisible wounds of war.

Download or read book The Anti trump Coloring Book written by Mike Browne and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-11-09 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Anti-Trump Coloring Book was created during the 2016 election. If you remember, slowly but surely many Republican candidates entered the contest. I started to draw them. The list grew to: Jeb Bush Ben Carson Ted Cruz John Kasich Jim Gilmore Marco Rubio Donald Trump Rick Perry Scott Walker Bobby Jindal Lindsey Graham George Pataki Jim Gilmore Mike Huckabee Rick Santorum Rand Paul Carley Fiorina Chris Christie I drew them at first not knowing how I'll use them. The intent was to make a therapy book for after he lost, then he won. Dang. I added a final page with James Comey using the final dagger and renamed the "Trump Therapy Coloring Book for the Cure of Trumpitis" to "The anti-Trump Coloring Book." Obviously by the title you would assume the author was not a Trump fan. Admittedly I used to be. I watched the Apprentice and got a kick out of his persona. I knew it was an act, he was the "all knowing genius." When the show became the Celebrity Apprentice the goal was to call your rich friends and gather money. He had people like Meat Loaf and Gary Busey battle it out to open a neighborhood cupcake stand. It was very impressive. I always had the thought he was aiming at the Presidency. He crapped on a gold toilet in buildings with his name on it. He felt glory in making President Obama prove he was born in the US. Instead of celebrities he will attach himself with has-been politicians and family members. Personally, I am offended by his words, actions and victory by transforming politics into a glorified smear campaign to win an election that he clearly doesn't have the temperament to run. Nothing he says can be trusted because he denies video tape and logic. We will be dependent on the likes of his family and former Vietnam veterans to keep us out of WWIII. He promises he can end ISIS...OK, let's see it. Oh, ending Healthcare and deporting millions carries more weight. I loath at the thought of watching him fake his way through a term. Personally I will treat news of him like the Kardashians. Quick mute or fast forward. My coloring book started early in the election. I drew different candidates. After about twelve I stopped. A month before the election I got pissed. The book was drawn and assembled over about 30 days. The back over is a "WHERE'S WALDO" type poster I drew of a grammar school many years ago. I tagged existing character with names of 2016 candidates. I also got the idea to use "QR" codes. If you use your cellphone and a free reader you'll see a reference article reminding you why I made the drawing. After time, the details get fuzzy. The QR codes are like notes.
