Book excerpt: Let us imagine that Jesus walked among us today, really could you imagine! What lifestyle would He choose to live? Would He choose to live in splendor? Or Would Jesus exhibit simple, humble, loving servant like qualities (the Carpenter), as we know Him in our bible readings? Jesus fed the hungry, clothes the needy and was the vessel of truth. Jesus came as a vessel, chosen to set an example, to bring love, grace and redemption. Yet, Jesus has ascended and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Jesus came to introduce Gods provision; Gods plan, not to forsaken anyone, all should receive the things that are needed for daily living. God made a plan to supply all of our needs. There is a provision to take care of all humankind on the earth. Through the servant-ship of chosen vessels, a plan of survival for humankinds has been put into place. God loves, shows compassion, and gives freely, as it is Gods plan that we honor the commandment to love thy neighbor as thyself. This is only one of the two most important commandments; the first commandment is to Love God with your whole heart (to have no god before Him), and the second is to love your neighbor as yourself. How does God desire that we give and share with our fellow man (neighbor)? God chose or gifted individuals with the abilities to manage substantial sums of money, and to discern the needs of others. To always give, lovingly and unconditionally, as God gives freely; desiring that as we will give freely. As we transform our lives to become more like Jesus, to give our time, talent, and resources as a part of the commitment to living in Christ. As we enter into the last days, the gift of giving will manifest, as we reach out to help families of believers and unbelievers. The last days will be a time where many will need God; spiritually, materially, physically and emotionally, and all needs should be met. As we give freely to unbelievers and believers; it will reveal Gods grace and love for all people. Humbly, all should aspire to be like Jesus, to reflect on Gods love for our fellow man and give, unconditionally? As the reference scripture reveals in Gods Word --- in Matthew 25: 45 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. 44 They also will answer, Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you? 45 He will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these; you did not do for me.

Book Election of the Lesser Son

Download or read book Election of the Lesser Son written by David R. Wallace and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 2014-09-01 with total page 235 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chapters 9–11 of Romans remains one of the most contested biblical texts in scholarship today. Theological discussions often limit the focus of this passage to God’s sovereignty or to Paul’s defense of God’s faithfulness, but less attention has been devoted to the form and style. Wallace demonstrates how Paul weaves two distinct Jewish literary forms together––lament and midrash—into a logical narrative concerning Israel’s salvation. Attention is given to Paul’s poetical structures, key literary terms, and use of Old Testament contexts.

Book A Shorter Commentary on Romans

Download or read book A Shorter Commentary on Romans written by Karl Barth and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2007-01-01 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This reissue of Barth's A Shorter Commentary on Romans links to the renewed interest today in a 'theological' interpretation of Scripture. In response to the modern preoccupation with what lies behind the text (the author's context), and to a postmodern preoccupation with what lies in front of the text (the reader's context), both theologians and biblical scholars are asking the following questions: 'What is the relationship between the biblical text, interpreter and God?' 'Can the Bible be read both as an historical document and as a text that speaks to us today, and if so, how can it do so?' Barth's commentarial practice as exemplified in A Shorter Commentary on Romans answers these questions. This book is presented in two parts: first, an introduction by Maico Michielin helping readers understand Barth's theological exegetical approach to interpreting Scripture and showing readers how to let Scripture address theological and ethical concerns for today; the main body of the book then follows - the republication of the original English translation by D.H. van Daalen of Barth's A Shorter Commentary on Romans.

Book The Making of a Prayer Princess

Download or read book The Making of a Prayer Princess written by Sallie Stroble and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-03-16 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 79My story begins, where else, but at the beginning when prayer became the essential foundation of a young Prayer Warrior Princess's life. The Prayer Warrior Princess's life elevated her into the presence of God through faith, and more prayer. She was privileged to have the Father explain deep truths about her identity as a child of the King of Kings.Growing up on a farm in the late 1950s, the author was surrounded by many family members, including her siblings and her parents. From birth, her parents believed there was a special significance about her life. It seemed to be anointed and gifted in a manner reminiscent of the young boy, King David. Both of her parents recognized and nurtured her anointing, but it was her father who motivated her the most. He would give her encouragement that she was one God was using and would use for a noteworthy purpose. Although he could not tell her how or when it would happen, they both knew that God would reveal his purpose for her life at a Kairos moment—just the right time. The Prayer Warrior Princess and her father saw evidence of how her faith in God's Word activated, advocated and called her to action as she spoke to others, causing their faith in God to increase. There would be many spiritual witnesses to the miraculous signs and wonders that followed her from birth throughout her childhood. The purpose of this book is to tell the story of how God came to the young Prayer Princess and transformed her way of thinking. Without faith in God, and prayer, she would not have made it to where she is today. Prayerfully, it is my deepest wish that millions will read this book and draw much joy and insight from it. This book was written, not only as a testament of my prayer journey, but also as an inspiration to other faithful and gifted prayer warriors. I encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:16–18).
