Book Synthesis Structure Characterization of Super Hard Nitride Material

Download or read book Synthesis Structure Characterization of Super Hard Nitride Material written by Fathia Mamdouh and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-02 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work concerned with preparation of Carbon Nitride thin films which is theoretically compete Diamond in hardness. CNx films perpared by the electrolysis of methanol -urea organic solution under different concentrations and applied voltages. This study characterized the structure of the prepared films by FTIR and GIXRD techniques and studied the optical properties of the CNx films by UV-Vis spectrometer. this study aimed at how the nitrogen to carbon ratio in the deposited films affect the structure and the properties of the deposited films.

Book Tailored Optical Properties of Graphitic Carbon Nitride Thin Films Via Surface Functionalization of Growth Substrates

Download or read book Tailored Optical Properties of Graphitic Carbon Nitride Thin Films Via Surface Functionalization of Growth Substrates written by Travis Tumlin and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page 59 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Graphitic carbon nitride has attracted much attention in recent years due to its medium size band gap, mechanical strength, blue fluorescence, and catalysis properties. Mainstream methods to produce carbon nitride thin films rely on multi-step exfoliation processes and atmospheric deposition which is unsuitable for large-scale production of electronic devices and sensors where scaling and defect-free materials are required. Our technique utilizes a low-pressure chemical vapor deposition process that allows for one-step synthesis on many different types of substrates with a removal of unwanted reacting gases during synthesis due to the low-pressure environment. This allows us to deposit highly uniform films with thicknesses on the order of 250 nm. By modifying the growth surface chemistry, the band gap of the graphitic carbon nitride can be tuned from a medium gap of 2.87 eV up to 4.1 eV. The fluorescence emission can also be tuned from 425 nm up to 465 nm through growth substrate surface chemistry engineering. As a sensing material, our graphitic carbon nitride thin films have a limit of detection of 50 nM for metal copper ions which has great potential for applications where metal ion concentration is important to monitor such as in the human body.

Book Nanoscale Graphitic Carbon Nitride

Download or read book Nanoscale Graphitic Carbon Nitride written by Alagarsamy Pandikumar and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2021-09-03 with total page 568 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nanoscale Graphitic Carbon Nitride focuses on multi-functional applications including energy conversion, storage and healthcare. Polymeric graphitic carbon nitride materials have attracted much attention in recent years because of their similarity to graphene. They are composed of carbon, nitrogen and some minor hydrogen content. In contrast to graphene, g-Graphitic carbon nitride is a medium band-gap semiconductor and in that role an effective photocatalyst and chemical catalyst for a broad variety of reactions and applications. This book covers the fundamentals and applications of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) in different sectors. It also covers the application of graphitic carbon nitride-based composites with metal, metal oxides, metal sulphide and carbon-based materials. This is an important resource for researchers in the fields of materials science, engineering, energy storage and chemical engineering who want to understand how nanoscale graphitic carbon nitride is being used for a range of industrial applications and processes. Outlines the major properties of nanoscale graphitic carbon nitride, along with their major application areas Assesses the challenges of manufacturing graphitic carbon nitride on a mass scale Explains major synthesis methods for nanoscale graphitic carbon nitride
