Book Preliminary Site Index Curves for Noble Fir From Stem Analysis Data Classic Reprint

Download or read book Preliminary Site Index Curves for Noble Fir From Stem Analysis Data Classic Reprint written by Donald J. Demars and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-09-10 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Preliminary Site Index Curves for Noble Fir From Stem Analysis Data Preliminary polymorphic site index curves were developed using stem analysis data from 54 plot locations in Oregon and washington. Site index reference age is 100 years at breast height, and total height is measured from average ground level. A family of 1] curves was obtained from four polymorphic curves by interpolation and proportional methods. The curves were extended from 250 to 350 years of age to provide site index values for these older age classes. The curves were based on tallest dominants only; therefore, the tallest dominant should be used when estimating the site index of'a particular area. Curves based on additional stem analyses of noble fir will be produced in the future. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Polymorphic Site Index Curves for Red Fir in California and Southern Oregon

Download or read book Polymorphic Site Index Curves for Red Fir in California and Southern Oregon written by K. Leroy Dolph and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polymorphic site index curves were developed from stem analysis data of 194 dominant red fir trees in California and southern Oregon. Site index was based on breast-height age and total tree height, with a base age of 50 years at breast height. Site index curves for breast height ages 10 to 160 years are presented for approximate estimates of site index. For more precise estimates, tabular vaiues of total tree height as a function of breast-height age and site index are given. Guidelines for selection of site trees and application of the site curves are discussed.

Herman and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-01-09 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Height Growth and Site Index Estimates for Noble Fir in High-Elevation Forests of the Oregon-Washington Cascades The new curves and tabular data can be used for estimating relative site quality of noble fir within the geographic zone represented by the basic data. Because the curves were based on the tallest, undamaged dominant in one - fourth acre ha), the tallest, undamaged dominant should also be selected when the site index of any similar-size upper-slope forest area is estimated. Book Height Age and Site Index Curves for Pacific Silver Fir in the Pacific Northwest Classic Reprint

Download or read book Height Age and Site Index Curves for Pacific Silver Fir in the Pacific Northwest Classic Reprint written by Gerald E. Hoyer and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-01-08 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Height-Age and Site Index Curves for Pacific Silver Fir in the Pacific Northwest Equations were developed to estimate the number of years free-growing trees need to reach breast height for the range of site index values. Conversion equations are provided to estimate height at age 50 for curves representing index heights at age 100. The results give forest managers working tools for use in managing silver fir. Keywords: Site index, Pacific silver fir, Abies amabilis, height growth, dominant, stem analysis, Pacific Northwest.
