Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When a woman becomes pregnant, miscarriage is usually the furthest thing from her mind. Such was the case for Jessalyn Hutto when she became pregnant with her first baby. But as is all too common in our post-fall world, the life she carried came to an abrupt end. Death had visited her womb, and the horrors of miscarriage had become a part of her life’s story. ••• Ultimately, she would lose two children in the womb, at 6 and 15 weeks gestation. Through these painful losses, a whole new world of suffering opened up to her. It seemed that everywhere she looked women were quietly mourning the loss of their unborn children. Yet this particular type of loss has been grossly overlooked by the church. ••• Couples navigating the unique sorrow of losing a child are often left with little biblical counsel to draw upon. Well-meaning friends and family often offer empty platitudes and Christian clichés. But what these couples truly need is the hope of the gospel. ••• Short, sensitive, and theologically robust, Inheritance of Tears offers hope and comfort to those who are called to walk through the painful trial of miscarriage, and shows pastors and church members how to effectively minister to these parents in their time of need.

Book The Gospel According to ANE Covenant Understanding

Download or read book The Gospel According to ANE Covenant Understanding written by Dave Schoch and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-06-10 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most Christians in the Church in the West do not know about Ancient Near Eastern (ANE) covenants, nor do they understand that the covenants God has made with mankind are based in form and function on ANE covenants and their governing principles of operation. Scholars and theologians know that the greater understanding we have of the historical and cultural roots of Christianity, the more accurately we can interpret the New Testament Scriptures. This work brings to the forefront of Christian theology some discoveries within theological fields of research and study that affects honest interpretation of the NT Scriptures. Such information demands dissemination throughout the grassroots levels of the Church, particularly for pastors, preachers, Bible teachers, and Christian academia. Understanding ANE covenants and their operating principles helps us to develop a more accurate and complete Biblical Hermeneutic and, more importantly, a more precisely tuned theology.

Book Predestination

  • ISBN : 1643306057

Download or read book Predestination written by Dag Heward-Mills and published by Dag Heward-Mills. This book was released on 2022-04-20 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is clear evidence in the Bible that things are determined beforehand. Believing in predestination means that you believe that no one has any real control of events but that everything has already been decided by God’s plan and purpose. On the other hand, there is also evidence that God gives us our free will and allows us the freedom to choose between good and evil. The concept of predestination is difficult to grasp because of the way circumstances play out. But predestination is real! It is time for you to understand predestination so that you can work with God and walk with God more easily. Another thought-provoking masterpiece by celebrated author, Dag Heward-Mills. Trust God and watch the outplaying of all the things that God has destined for you.

Book Ephesians

    Book Details:
  • Author : John Paul Heil
  • Publisher : Society of Biblical Lit
  • Release : 2007
  • ISBN : 1589832671
  • Pages : 357 pages

Download or read book Ephesians written by John Paul Heil and published by Society of Biblical Lit. This book was released on 2007 with total page 357 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyzes Paul's Letter to the Ephesians and demonstrates that the Letter's implied audience heard its individual units as a rich and complex pattern of chiastic structures. It shows that, not only is the entire Letter arranged in fifteen units that function as a comprehensive chiastic structure, but that each of these fifteen units in turn exhibits its own chiastic structure. By attending carefully to the structure and rhetoric of Ephesians, this work demonstrates how the implied audience is persuaded and empowered by the progression of the Letter to “walk in love” and so contribute to the cosmic unity of all things in Christ.

Book The Predestination of Humans

Download or read book The Predestination of Humans written by Cornelius Jansen and published by CUA Press. This book was released on 2022-02-18 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No other theological text polarized the early modern Catholic world as much as Cornelius Jansen's Augustinus. In it the erudite bishop not only reconstructed St. Augustine's teaching on grace and free will, but also boldly claimed that his views were in line with the Council of Trent and the Society of Jesus. For Jansen the latter had marginalized the Church Father's doctrine on divine predestination by overemphasizing human free will. Published after his death in 1640, Jansen's work drew a large crowd of followers and inspired an Augustinian reform movement. Its papal condemnation unintentionally spread this theology, but stifled an impassionate, academic engagement with the Augustinus. This first-ever translation of some of its central chapters enables historians, philosophers and theologians to finally engage with the founding text of Jansenism.

Book Predestined to His Purpose

    Book Details:
  • Author : Michael E B Maher
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2020-06-25
  • ISBN : 9781393458869
  • Pages : 126 pages

Download or read book Predestined to His Purpose written by Michael E B Maher and published by . This book was released on 2020-06-25 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ephesians 1:11 "In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will." This book essentially deals with the doctrine of predestination, or to put it more accurately, it explains how God governs His creation. But because of our very limited understanding in this present age, we only discuss one aspect of predestination in this book, which is the aspect of salvation, for obviously as far as men are concerned, that is by far the most important aspect that we need to understand. And so, in this book we discuss the principles as revealed in scripture, that God uses, in order to predestine our lives for salvation. These same principles however, are also true for every aspect of our lives, and indeed how God predestines every aspect of His creation. Clearly there are very strong opposing opinions in the church about this subject, and the point of this book is not to support or refute any of those opinions, but rather to look at what the New Testament teaches us about this particular doctrine.

Book Predestination Is to Glory Not to Faith

Download or read book Predestination Is to Glory Not to Faith written by Wayne ODonnell and published by Wayne ODonnell. This book was released on 2020-04-20 with total page 437 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All my books can be read online for free at wayneodonnell.com. Mt. 10:8, “Freely you have received, freely give.” The Bible says we’re predestined to glory, but it doesn’t say we’re predestined to faith, as Calvinism teaches. The differences between the language of the Bible and the language of Calvinism indicate the doctrinal errors of Calvinism. All Reformed theologians teach predestination to faith, which includes faith in a sequence the Bible doesn’t include it in. The ‘Golden Chain’ of Romans 8:28-30 includes 1) foreknowledge, 2) predestination, 3) calling, 4) justification, and 5) glorification. Paul intentionally omits faith from this sequence because predestination is to glorification and sanctification, not to faith. Paying attention to this detail alters Calvinism’s TULIP. T (Total Depravity) doesn’t include an inability to believe the gospel. Election is not U (Unconditional), since God elects all whom he has known forever in the eternal Messiah, who entered into union with him through justification by unpredestined faith. I (Irresistible Grace) is after justification, for sanctification and glorification. L (Limited Atonement) is unbiblical. And, P (Perseverance of the Saints) is confirmed in the strongest possible way, to the extent it’s synonymous with eternal security and the certainty of glorification. Most other anti-Calvinist books deal heavily with the moral and philosophical travesties of Calvinism. For example, I highly recommend What Love Is This, by Dave Hunt. But this book tries to provide better expositions of the passages that lead good, godly men to accept Calvinism in the first place, like Romans 8, Romans 9, John 6, and Ephesians 1, by paying attention to the small, under-appreciated detail, that the Bible says predestination is to sanctification and glory, not to faith. If I felt this task was already accomplished, I wouldn’t have written this book, but would have promoted the books that already did it. White (Calvinist), "There is no meaningful non-Reformed exegesis of [John 6:37-45] available. As numerous as the attempts of Arminian exegetes to find some way around the testimony of these verses has been, not even a plausible solution has been offered that does not require the complete dismantling of the text, redefinition of words, or the insertion of utterly foreign concepts." Flowers (Non-Calvinist), "Would anyone dare adopt or seek to defend this most troubling doctrine [of reprobation] if not for the perceived defense offered by the apostle in Romans 9?" I rejoice in biblical, non-Calvinistic predestination, to glory, not to faith! Biblical predestination is about the certainty of God’s completion of our salvation through sanctification and glorification. Predestination shouldn’t be a word that conjures up images of Calvinistic horrors of reprobation in the minds of those who haven’t been indoctrinated to focus on the good fortunes of the elect. Instead, predestination should be a word that gives great joy, because it underlies the Biblical doctrine of the certainty of our future glorification! Rom. 5:3, “Having been justified by faith, we ... rejoice in [the sure and certain] hope of [sharing in] the glory of God!” My hope is that this book won’t only be a defense against Calvinism and its harms, and rescue some born-again Calvinists from Calvinism; but also that this consideration of the topic of predestination will give all readers a better understanding of the justification, sanctification, and glorification that comprise our gracious salvation, and this knowledge will also make us more fruitful. Jn. 15:7-8, “If ... my words abide in you, ... herein is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Foreknowledge of God Centuries back, the world's population believed the planet was flat... a mere "plane." And when the scientist presented his theory, that it was a "globe," he fell in disgrace and was jailed. Believing the "tale" of a flat planet, fishermen would sail a distance that kept them within eyesight of the shoreline. This, supposedly, because going beyond that distance would plunge them "over the edge" of the plane, to a "black void" that meant a horrible death. Indeed, they paid dearly for this false sense of security. As a matter of fact, it kept them from sailing the high seas, where in times of famine fish would have been over-abundant. Today, millions of Christians, suffering from a similar, myopic view of the spiritual Realm, persist in believing the "plane" theory of God's Fore-Knowledge. But now. the time has come for you to sail the spiritual high seas of The Realm of Eternal Existence. So lift the anchor of your faith, raise the sails of your understanding and set the prow of your soul's ship towards uncharted frontiers. You may yet find the unimagined spiritual riches that your heart has been yearning for. But for that, you must begin the Search. R. A. Chevrés, Missionary Pastor Has testified for Christ around the globe, touching lives in forty seven countries, over a span of thirty-one years.
