Book Praying for Healing while Planning a Funeral

Download or read book Praying for Healing while Planning a Funeral written by Rosey Brausen and published by BroadStreet Publishing Group LLC. This book was released on 2015-07-01 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gary Brausen was a hockey player, runner, and bicyclist. He maintained a healthy diet and did not smoke. But six months after his fiftieth birthday, the doctors told him he had an aggressive form of lung cancer. The prognosis was bleak. Three oncologists said his case was terminal and told Gary to get his affairs in order. God’s will is to heal disease, yet too many people go home to heaven through the pathway of illness. How can we love Jesus so recklessly in the process that we leave nothing on the table when asking for healing except His sovereignty? Praying for Healing while Planning a Funeral confronts our often double-minded approach to lean on the counsel of man instead of the promises of God—losing sight of His miraculous nature as our faithful, loving, merciful God. Learn how you can • Fight tenaciously because your hope comes from the Lord. • Seek the heart of God so you don’t bow to terminal illness. • Not be afraid to pursue the miraculous. • Trust God to sustain you whether healing occurs in this life or the next. Praying for Healing while Planning a Funeral is not just about hope; it is about digging in and standing strong as God teaches you how to fight His way.

Book Seeing Through the Eyes of the Spirit

Download or read book Seeing Through the Eyes of the Spirit written by John Oti and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2018-06-23 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seeing through the Eyes of the Spirit is a Bible-based practical approach to the place of dreams, visions, and revelations in the lives of those who are believers in Christ Jesus. It is obvious that some, even among Christians, have problems believing in dreams and revelations as a critical component of spirituality in the times we now live. However, a close and a thorough examination of the Bible in general and the book of Acts provides the evidence that what God did in the past does happen in our time because God has not changed. Moreover, further evidence in the book of Hebrews notes, Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). In other words, those who are believers in Christ do experience seeing through visions and receiving revelations from God. Regardless of the skepticism of the modern and postmodern worldview, God moves in supernatural ways to accomplish his plans on earth. Furthermore, everyone who has read Acts and the entire New Testament will also come to the conclusion that the ability to see through dreams and visions did not end with the apostles of the Lamb or the early church fathers. Rather, visions and revelations are a commonplace phenomenon for anyone in any age who has had a genuine encounter with the living Christ. Without a doubt, there are those who claim to have visions and who have made such claims when their experiences have not been proven to be biblically based or an authentic, divine experience from God. However, just because such people misrepresent the gospel does not negate the fact those with visions and revelations in this time truly had such encounters from God. Seeing through the Eyes of the Spirit is a signature of my own experiences in many years of the ministry. I trust that the testimony and the teachings from the holy scriptures in this book will inspire future Christian leaders to be more prepared for supernatural encounters from the Lord.

Book Healing Your Grieving Heart After a Military Death

Download or read book Healing Your Grieving Heart After a Military Death written by Bonnie Carroll and published by Companion Press. This book was released on 2015-09-01 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Practical methods for healing after the loss of a member of the military When a loved one is killed in the line of duty, this book affirms that survivors' grief is shaped by the unique circumstances of the death. Because military deaths are almost always sudden and violent, the traumatic nature of the loss creates a two-part grief—one focused on the manner in which the person died, the other focused on the long-term repercussions of life without this special person. This guide acknowledges the unique mixture of sadness, pride, anger, and blame that often characterizes grief after a military death, including in the event of a military suicide, and offers ideas for constructively expressing thoughts and feelings. Anyone whose life has been touched by a military death will find compassionate understanding and healing guidance in the pages of this handbook.

Book Leading Beyond the Walls 21293

Download or read book Leading Beyond the Walls 21293 written by Adam Hamilton and published by Abingdon Press. This book was released on 2010-09-01 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Good pastoral leadership is not a "by the numbers" proposition. It is a matter of heart and soul, of devoting the whole self to the vision God gives for the congregation in which one serves. Yet neither is it purely intuitive; it requires hard, careful thinking about the directions and details of the path down which God calls. When Adam Hamilton became pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, its membership consisted of himself and his family. Ten years later the church averages between five and six thousand worshipers per weekend. Throughout this remarkable period, Hamilton learned many serious lessons about both the broad visions and the specific details of pastoral leadership. Bringing a depth of analytical skills often lacking in visionary leaders, in this book he goes beyond simply telling the story of Church of the Resurrection. He shares the questions that he learned to ask about the largely unchurched population to which Church of the Resurrection has reached out. Further, he demonstrates what he learned by listening to the answers to these questions, and how doing so has made possible a number of strategically crucial decisions the church has made. One of those crucial decisions was to make more traditional forms of worship and praise the center of the congregation's life. The result is that the example of Church of the Resurrection offers pastors and church leaders (especially those in mainline denominations) the realization that they need not completely change their liturgical and theological identity in order to reach out to the unchurched. Drawing on his own experience, as well as the detailed research on the characteristics of highly successful congregations he undertook during a sabbatical leave, Hamilton offers pastors and other church leaders solid, substantive thinking on steps that congregations can take to become centers of vibrant outreach and mission. Also available in:Adobe Ebook 9780687026753Microsoft Ebook 9780687027491
