Book excerpt: The key to unleashing a wave of meaningful prayer in your life, challenging us to live daily on our knees, Prayerless Praying can awaken your passion for God and teach you how to revive a dwindling prayer life. Every religion incorporates some form of prayer, meditation, and teaching. This book will not teach you how to pray, but it will invite you to see the need for prayer in your life. Indeed, prayer is a power tool in the hands of a person of faith. Do not allow yourself to be a helpless bystander while your life is derailed before your very eyes. Take action, be proactive, pray! Establishes and shines the unbroken principle spoken by Jesus that Without God we can do nothing therefore Man ought always to pray. - -Asaph Mukandila M., senior pastor of Light of Life Community Church

Book excerpt: Methodist minister and Civil War chaplain Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913) considered conversation with God as fundamentally vital to the Christian's life as physical breath. He devoted the last 17 years of his life to intense intercession and to penning some of the most perennially popular works about prayer. This attractive volume features the very best of his beloved writings. "God shapes the world by prayer. Prayers are deathless. The lips that uttered them may be closed in death, the heart that felt them may have ceased to beat, but the prayers live before God, and God's heart is set on them and prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; they outlive a generation, outlive an age, outlive a world." --from E.M. Book The Complete Works of E M Bounds On Prayer Vol I Sea Harp Timeless series

Download or read book The Complete Works of E M Bounds On Prayer Vol I Sea Harp Timeless series written by E.M. Bounds and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2022-09-20 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "We do more of everything else than of praying." In the Church today, there is a growing unspoken belief that God is silent, that efforts to communicate with him are contrived, naive and—perhaps most of all—futile. In this collection of his early books, E. M. Bounds speaks to the enduring power of prayer—as the pathway to personal connection with God, as the means to experience abundance, and as the very instrument that is capable of changing the world. Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913) was an American author, attorney, Civil War army chaplain and Methodist preacher. Of his 11 published books, nine of them focused on prayer — an act that he believed was central to the heart of a believer, and therefore one that should be consistently learned and practiced. Bounds devoted countless hours to personal prayer, and these books are the overflow of his experience, heart and faithfulness. The Complete Works of E. M. Bounds on Prayer Volume I includes Power Through Prayer, Purpose in Prayer, Prayer and Praying Men, and The Possibilities of Prayer. Through Bounds' passion and expertise, the reader will discover: How prayer can transform people and the world The purpose of individual, private prayer The centrality of prayer to spiritual health How God's promises are fulfilled through prayer In these pages, readers will encounter a sincere and unwavering belief that anything is possible through prayer and an infectious devotion to prayer as the means to true and lasting transformation.

Download or read book Purpose in Prayer written by Edward Bounds and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2011-07-28 with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is prayer with a purpose? "The definite and direct utterance of one who knew that he had the ear of God, and that God had the willingness as well as the power to grant the petition which he asked of Him." There are basics of prayer. When you understand them, your prayers will change you, your family, and the world. Here are a few of the basics: The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be. Prayer is a disinfectant and a preventive. It purifies the air; it destroys the contagion of evil. Prayer is no fitful, short-lived thing. It is no voice crying unheard and unheeded in the silence. God shapes the world by prayer. Author Edward M. Bounds, a prolific writer about prayer, focuses on the purpose in prayer rather than the purpose of prayer-and answers many questions you may have about how to improve your prayer time. Why don't we pray more? "Other duties become pressing and absorbing and crowd out prayer. Choked to death, would be the coroner's verdict in many cases of dead praying, if an inquest could be secured on this dire, spiritual calamity." Will you be the one to pray for the various interests of earth and Heaven?

Book THE WORKS OF E M BOUNDS

Download or read book THE WORKS OF E M BOUNDS written by E.M Bounds and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2015-11-06 with total page 608 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What the Church needs to-day is not more machinery or better, not new organizations or more and novel methods, but men whom the Holy Ghost can use -- men of prayer, men mighty in prayer. The Holy Ghost does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men -- men of prayer. An eminent historian has said that the accidents of personal character have more to do with the revolutions of nations than either philosophic historians or democratic politicians will allow. This truth has its application in full to the gospel of Christ, the character and conduct of the followers of Christ -- Christianize the world, transfigure nations and individuals. Of the preachers of the gospel it is eminently true.

Book The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Prayer Volume 2

Download or read book The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Prayer Volume 2 written by Zacharias Tanee Fomum and published by ZTF Books Online. This book was released on with total page 1203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Complete Works of Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Prayer (Volume 2)” contains the following books: 1) The Art of Intercession 2) The Practice of Intercession 3) Practical Spiritual Warfare Through Prayer 4) Life-Changing Thoughts on Prayer (Volume 1) 5) The Overthrow of Principalities and Powers 6) The Prophecy of the Overthrow of the Satanic Prince of Douala 7) The Prophecy of the Overthrow of the Prince of Cameroon Having left the ABCs of prayer behind, this volume deals with the intricacies of intercession, spiritual warfare, and the overthrow of satanic princes ruling entire nations behind the scenes. It tackles both the art and practice of intercession. Simply put, intercession is both the art and practice by a righteous, blameless, and absolutely consecrated person, to accept, stand in the gap, and defend a person or people that God has targeted for destruction due to their brazen and sustained violation of His will. The Lord’s response to Moses’ intercession and entreaty for the children of Israel was swift and dramatic. The Bible says, “Then the Lord relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened”(Exodus 32:14). That was intercession in both its art and practice. So many advanced believers in Christ don’t even believe that satanic princes exist. They exist. They are so real, so devastating in their work and so strangulating in their grip of people and their affairs, that you can only ignore them to your own undoing. Daniel battled these satanic princes all his adult life in exile in the Babylonian, Persian, and Median realms. He did so through strategic, prevailing, and sustained prayer and fasting (Daniel 10:1-21; 11:1). He battled in prayer and fasting until the satanic princes of Persia and Greece, which were opposing God’s purposes, were overcame, overturned, and overthrown. We send this second prayer volume out with a cry to the Lord that He should use it to teach the church of the Firstborn the intricacies of intercession and spiritual warfare. In this age of atheism, agnosticism, humanism, espionage, robots, sophisticated gadgets, and the Internet, there was never a time we needed intercession and spiritual warfare like now.

Book Life changing Thoughts On Prayer volume I

Download or read book Life changing Thoughts On Prayer volume I written by Zacharias Tanee Fomum and published by ZTF Books Online. This book was released on 2015-05-17 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prayer is central to any work and to any move of God. We have been burdened for very many years now about praying, and are labouring to pray ever increasingly. We have been burdened about the centrality of prayer and have laboured to lead individuals into seeing the necessity of prayer and to actually pray. We have been burdened to lead churches into seeing the necessity of prayer and into praying. As I prayed alone, and as we travelled and taught about prayer, I took down key thoughts for myself that came through as I prayed alone, as I led others in prayer and as we taught on prayer. In this book, we share with you some of the thoughts that have come to us as we taught and as we prayed. Our prayer is that by God’s grace you will find in this book some thoughts that will revolutionise and stir your heart to pray and pray and pray. May our God bless you exceedingly.

Book How Can I Cultivate Private Prayer

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prayer is a crucial part of the Christian life, and believers must give it careful attention and cultivation. As they pray, Christians exercise their faith in repentance, in submission to God’s will, and in praise to God. Believers in Christ, then, must grow in their prayer life—in their communion with God. In this pamphlet, Joel R. Beeke gives readers helpful, practical ways to improve their prayer lives by first disciplining themselves, in dependence on the Holy Spirit, and by then taking hold of God. Learn what a blessing it is to pray! Table of Contents: Take Inventory of Your Prayer Life Take Hold of Yourself Take Hold Of God Series Description D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones once said that what the church needs to do most all is “to begin herself to live the Christian life. If she did that, men and women would be crowding into our buildings. They would say, ‘What is the secret of this?’” As Christians, one of our greatest needs is for the Spirit of God to cultivate biblical godliness in us in order to put the beauty of Christ on display through us, all to the glory of the triune God. With this goal in mind, this series of booklets treats matters vital to Christian experience at a basic level. Each booklet addresses a specific question in order to inform the mind, warm the affections, and transform the whole person by the Spirit’s grace, so that the church may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
