The peculiarities of this process as compared to the transfer of pions in H/sub 2/ + Z mixtures are discussed. (auth) The tetramethyl compounds of Si, Ge, Sn, and Pb were investigated mass spectrometrically using equal conditions. The absolute intensities as a function of electron impact energy, the extrapolated relative intensities of the fragments, and ion yields of fragrnents as a function of ntomic number are found. This study is usetul for determining the behavior of tetramethylekalead in an ion source. (JFP).
