Book Pool Boiling of HFO 1336mzz Z on a Reentrant Cavity Surface

Download or read book Pool Boiling of HFO 1336mzz Z on a Reentrant Cavity Surface written by Mark A. Kedzierski and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 43 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper quantifies the pool boiling performance of R1336mzz(Z), and R123 on a flattened, horizontal Turbo-ESP surface for heat fluxes between roughly 10 kWm-2 and 120 kWm-2. The study showed that the boiling performance of R1336mzz(Z) on the TurboESP did not differ statistically from that of R123 for heat fluxes between 13 kWm-2 and59 kWm-2. For heat fluxes larger than 59 kWm-2, the R123 boiling heat flux was up to 5 % larger than the heat flux for R1336mzz(Z). For heat fluxes between 4 kWm-2and 13 kWm-2, the R123 heat flux was approximately 53 % larger than that of R1336mzz(Z). The R1336mzz(Z) pool boiling curve was measured for three saturation temperatures and exhibited an optimum with respect to saturation temperature near the middle saturation temperature of 298.1 K. A pool boiling model from the present authors was modified to include a single-phase transfer term and was used to predict both single-component and multi-component performance of the test refrigerants on the Turbo-ESP surface. For most heat fluxes, the modified model predicted the measured superheat to within +/- 0.5 K.

Book Principles of Enhanced Heat Transfer

Download or read book Principles of Enhanced Heat Transfer written by Ralph L. Webb and published by Wiley-Interscience. This book was released on 1994-03-28 with total page 584 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Indeed, today "second generation" enhancement concepts are routing in the automotive and refrigeration industries to obtain lower cost, smaller heat exchanger size, and higher energy efficiency in system operation. And the aerospace, process, and power generation industries are not far behind.

Book Process Enhanced and Multiphase Heat Transfer

Download or read book Process Enhanced and Multiphase Heat Transfer written by A. E. Bergles and published by Begel House. This book was released on 1996-01-01 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The papers included in this volume span the areas of heat transfer where Professor Bergles has made seminal contributions--heat transfer enhancement, pool and forced convective boiling, cooling of electronic and microelectronic devices, single phase forced convection, and process heat transfer. Professor Bergles has been one of the foremost articulators of the need for careful experimentation, appropriate numerical computing, and frequent interactions among various constituencies to achieve progress in the field of heat transfer.

Book Heat Pumps for Energy Efficiency and Environmental Progress

Download or read book Heat Pumps for Energy Efficiency and Environmental Progress written by J. Bosma and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 613 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 70 papers collected in this volume present an up to date review of the trends in heat pump technology. The heat pump is reviewed both as being part of a more comprehensive system, and as a refined device providing energy and greenhouse gas emission reductions. Its implementation in a system or process must be carefully considered at an early stage of design or development, and process integration is discussed in detail as a valuable tool for industry. The heat pump is proving to be a highly effective energy conserving tool, particularly when designed and used as an integral part of a system. Environmental benefits are gained when energy is conserved, and heat pumps can make a major contribution in this area. However, some heat pumps use working fluids which are environmentally unfriendly, and the progress that has been made in the field of alternative refrigerants is reported on. The volume will prove an indispensable reference source on the wide-ranging applications that have been developed since the last international conference, on such topics as heat pump field trials, pilot plants and development programmes.
