Le travail que nous avons fait s'inscrit dans le cadre de l'étude de ces systèmes. Il concerne plus particulièrement la modélisàtion du fonctionnement d'un système PAC-MT à gaz en vue d'une aide à la conception de ces systèmes et de leur régulation. La modélisation de la Partie PAC reprend en partie celle qui avait été proposée par HABERSCHILL : (Thèse DI, Lyon 1983) en y apportant certaines simplifications. Le modèle du moteur, entièrement nouveau, a été élaboré avec le même souci de minimisation de l'importance du logiciel tout en conservant une fidélité maximum de la représentation thermique du fonctionnement par rapport à la réalité. Ainsi les transferts thermiques à la paroi ont été pris en compte dans toutes les phases du cycle ; les laminages au niveau du papillon d''admission des gaz et des soupapes ainsi que les diverses pertes de charges sont intégrés à la modélisation de l'admission et de l'échappement ; enfin, la combustion a lieu avec une vitesse qui tient compte des paramètres physiques du milieu. Chacun de ces deux modèles est validé par des résultats expérimentaux obtenus sur un banc d'essais conçu et réalisé spécifiquement pour cette étude. L' exploitation du modèle global permet, notamment de prévoir le comportement d'une installation c'est à dire par exemple de tracer les courbes de puissance de chauffage et de vitesse de rotation en fonction de la position du papillon d'admission des gaz du carburateur pour des conditions d'utilisation variables.
