Book Polymorphic Site Index Curves for Red Fir in California and Southern Oregon

Download or read book Polymorphic Site Index Curves for Red Fir in California and Southern Oregon written by K. Leroy Dolph and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polymorphic site index curves were developed from stem analysis data of 194 dominant red fir trees in California and southern Oregon. Site index was based on breast-height age and total tree height, with a base age of 50 years at breast height. Site index curves for breast height ages 10 to 160 years are presented for approximate estimates of site index. For more precise estimates, tabular vaiues of total tree height as a function of breast-height age and site index are given. Guidelines for selection of site trees and application of the site curves are discussed.

Book Polymorphic Site Index Curves for Noble Fir from Stem Analysis Data

Download or read book Polymorphic Site Index Curves for Noble Fir from Stem Analysis Data written by Donald J. DeMars and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 70 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Polymorphic site index curves for noble fir from stem analysis data were compiled from 54 plot locations. On each plot location, the tallest dominant noble fir was felled and sectioned. Site index was based on total height and age at breast height, with index age at 100 years. A graphical test to determine if the curves are polymorphic indicated that polymorphism exists.

Book A Key to the Literature Presenting Site index and Dominant height growth Curves and Equations for Species in the Pacific Northwest and California

Download or read book A Key to the Literature Presenting Site index and Dominant height growth Curves and Equations for Species in the Pacific Northwest and California written by David W. Hann and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Summaries from 49 published articles on site-index and dominant-heightgrowth curves and equations are presented for 20 tree species or species groups found in California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, southeastern Alaska, Idaho, and western Montana. The summaries are organized by species. Each summary describes the modeling approach, type of curves/ equations, base age, and type of age presented in the article. In addition, the geographic location, number of trees or plots, range in age, and range in site index used to develop the curves/equations are also described.
