Book An Exploration of a New Poetic Expression Beyond Dichotomy

Download or read book An Exploration of a New Poetic Expression Beyond Dichotomy written by Shin'ichiro Ishikawa and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2004 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study attempts to re-evaluate Lawrence's poetry, which has often been read as a set of biographical documents or supplementary notes to his novels, as fully independent literary work in the light of post-modern critical theory. The author carefully examines how Lawrence needed to misread his precursors, the nineteenth-century Romantics, to establish himself as one of the modern poets. What separates his poetry from his precursors' is his self-consciousness as a modern poet. His search for radical freedom in language and his meta-poetic exploration of a new poetic expression make him a true pioneer of the "terra incognita" in English poetry.

Book excerpt: The beloved and award-winning novel now available in a new format with a great new cover! When Wesley Boone writes a poem for his high school English class, some of his classmates clamor to read their poems aloud too. Soon they're having weekly poetry sessions and, one by one, the eighteen students are opening up and taking on the risky challenge of self-revelation. There's Lupe Alvarin, desperate to have a baby so she will feel loved. Raynard Patterson, hiding a secret behind his silence. Porscha Johnson, needing an outlet for her anger after her mother OD's. Through the poetry they share and narratives in which they reveal their most intimate thoughts about themselves and one another, their words and lives show what lies beneath the skin, behind the eyes, beyond the masquerade.

Download or read book Sharing Poetic Expressions written by Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-05-03 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A world ever more extensively interlinked is calling out for serving human interests broader and more compelling than those inspiring our technological welfare. The interface between cultures – at the moment especially between the Occident and Islam – presents challenges to mutual understandings and calls for restoring the resources of our human beings forgotten in the struggle of competition and rivalry at the vital spheres of existence. In the evolutionary progress of the living beings the strictly vital concerns, emotions, attributes become sublimed and elevated to the spiritual sphere at which human beings encounter each other and share. Studies presented here bring forth sublimity, generosity, forgiveness, beauty, and are exalting the quest after ciphers and symbols which lead to our sharing the common deepest stream of fraternal reality.

Charlene Hatton’s “Poetic Expressions” is a collection of poems, which serve as a way of giving thanks to the Lord for coming to her when she needed him the most. From her suffering came great relief, and through this miracle, we now have a wonderful collection of devotional poetry to comfort others who are waiting for their miracles, and to remind those who have been blessed to thank God for His kindness. Encapsulating the Christian tenants of charity, love, and kindness to others, each stanza of her spiritual poems in “Poetic Expressions” offers a beautiful prayer to the God so many people turn from when they are down, and lose sight of when they are doing well.

After the loss of my twenty-year-old son, Barry R. Catron, due to a boating accident, I started putting my thoughts on paper in poem version. It has been and always will be my therapy! Book Metrical Claims and Poetic Experience

Download or read book Metrical Claims and Poetic Experience written by Hannah V. Eldridge and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2022-10-04 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contributes to the fields of lyric poetry and poetics (especially poetic form), aesthetics, and German literature by intervening in debates on the social functions, cognitive and emotional effects, and the value of poetry. It builds on, and moves beyond, previous theories of rhythm to tie meter more particularly to the specificities of poetic language in blending of embodied responses, cultural situations, and linguistic particularities. The book examines the German-language tradition across three centuries, arguing that the interdisciplinarity and richness of metrical theory and practice emerge in the heterogeneity of poetry and its defenders in their specific historical moments. Focusing on Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Durs Grünbein, the book contextualizes each in the metrical and aesthetic debates of his epoch, showing how questions of meter are linked with overarching poetic goals such as the relationship between form and meaning, the adaptation of the Classical past for German literature, and the ways poetry's sounds work in the body. It argues that Klopstock's, Nietzsche's, and Grünbein's metrical theory and practice offer valuable insights for thinking about the ways poetry works and why it matters.

Book Poetic Inquiry

Download or read book Poetic Inquiry written by Pauline Sameshima and published by Vernon Press. This book was released on 2017-06-15 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the tradition of a decade of bi-annual gatherings of the International Symposium on Poetic Inquiry, this volume serves as the fifth refereed symposium anthology. Enchantment of Place celebrates poetry and poetic voices—theorizing and exploring poetic inquiry as an approach, methodology, and/or method for use in contemporary research practices. Poetic inquiry has increased in prominence as a legitimate means by which to collect, assimilate, analyze, and share the results of research across many disciplines. With this collection, we hope to continue to lay the groundwork internationally, for researchers, scholars, graduate students, and the larger community to take up poetic inquiry as a way to approach knowledge generation, learning, and sharing. This volume specifically works to draw attention to the ancient connection between poetry and the natural world with attention to broadening the ecological scope and impact of the work of poetic inquirers.

Book Sri Aurobindo s Poetic Theory

Download or read book Sri Aurobindo s Poetic Theory written by Dr. N. N. Londhe and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-06-13 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Having applied the standards of modern critical theory, it may sound fruitless to account for biographical details of writer in interpreting his work as the biographical details either hold no importance or have nothing to do with the work of art in the sense that once a work of art is born, it looses its connection with the creator. Moreover, even in the moment of creation, the author remains detached from his creation. However, there are some exceptions to this. It has been observed that the biographical details are of immense help in partly making sense of what the concerned author has encoded. These details can be correlated to his writing. In the case of some writers, their life has a special relation with what they write, how they led their life, what inspiration they sought, what influences they received and imbibed in their personality, what experiences they lived with, and what events and occasions they confronted.
